That would have been the play. But as opposed to baiting Moses to throw a lot. Moses threw a lot without needing to be baited.

I dont think they we,re expecting Moses to come out and throw the kitchen sink at him. He tried to treat Hrgovic like a journeyman and very almost got the job done but it was his downfall more than Hrgovic getting his plan going.

I think Hrgovic would have probably drowned Moses even if Moses had been more economical. By doing exactly that baiting him to throw....then getting on him when he tried to take a breather. He done that at times but it wasnt nearly as effective as Moses gassing himself out by throwing the kitchen sink at him.

It's absolutely disgusting, especially Talksport and that circle. They were bootlicking and coronating Itauma as the unified HW champ, and planning his future fights, even before the fight. The hype was on a mental institution-level it was so insane.

If anything Hrgovic deserves criticism for being more defensively irresponsible compared to the days when he fought guys like Lenier Pero.

Hrgovic was the one with legit world class experience and proven grit. HE should've been the "star" and favorite. He should be the focus and receiving both negative and positive feedback now.

Body shot battered!!!!!!!!! Would have been better if the ref abd corner let it go on 10 seconds longer. Just so he'd get KTFO.

The way to look at it is - if he conserved his energy then the early rounds could have looked much different and could well have taken a beating that sapped it out of him anyway - we don’t know. Alternate reality is rarely a simple linear affair

TalkSport are the worst. It's just propaganda

Yes, Hrgovic has stagnated and regressed as a pro. He's got slower too. He never received the right schooling coming from Croatia and I've always felt he could and should be better than he is if he hooked up with the right fit trainer. He's worked with some top trainers but I've never seen the improvements I've wanted to see from him with any of them.

Sanchez has got him into better shape but I'm not a fan of him either really

Yeah it's disgusting. Such disrespect both before and after the fight

I thought that was the best I'd seen Hrgo, honestly. He had a clear plan, his punches were efficient, precise and hurtful, he showed absolute mastery of the ring and forcing/dictating the pace and his finish was ruthless. I think he knew this was his last throw of the dice and his boxing nous knew he had to be on point to beat this kid. The fight he fought shows the respect he clearly had for Moses ability. He disrespected and underestimated Dubois and I wonder if 'this' Hrgo is a better match for big Dan?

    Yes.
Hrgovic hit that spot multiple times again, and Itauma defended that spot with special care; and made painful grimaces.

Brilliant stuff from Abel Sanchez. The thought of being as exhausted as that and seeing my opponent up ready, up off his stool, as if to say, 'Come on then mate, what you waiting for?' :eyepop: That's a nope from me. The negativity that must have been running through Itauma's mind, yikes.

He has made improvements in certain areas under Sanchez. His stamina most notably.

His body punching seems more powerful and I really like how he sunk that right hand into the gut and I want to see more of that.

His left hook upstairs and down seems less slappy and has more thud in it

But he's pushing out his jab as opposed to snapping it out which made it really easy for Moses to counter and made Moses look better then he would have had he snapped it out

Most fans are blinded by speed and athleticism and DKSAB. Hence why they underrate fighters like Hrgovic, think witnessed a shutout domination until round 9, ignore his good work and missed all the subtle things he was doing both physically and mentally in order to create doubt and anxiety in Moses' mind and deplete his energy reserves and the psychological warfare started long before the fight

Possibly but it will be in the UK with the deck heavily stacked in Dubois' favour just like it was in Moses' favour and Hrgovic will have to KO him to come away with a SD loss

    For sure.

Hrgovic was masterful with the psychological warfare during the build up too and I could see it was having the desired effect and I'm not alluding to Moses losing his cool at the weigh in. I didn't even mind him doing that because Hrgovic was asserting his dominance albeit pushing him from behind wasn't a good look and dumb because it could've jeopardised the fight

Hrgovic is a really intimidating and super confident guy and funny too so good luck trying to win the mental warfare battle during the build up to the fight. He's like a Croatian Vitali

Yet he owned Itauma. Hrgovic is his daddy.
