“I thought Lara beat him by at least two rounds. And I thought it was a close fight with Austin Trout, even though he beat Austin Trout.”

Lara's stablemates disagree with you. They thought Canelo won.

Mayweather Sr. Also thinks Lara didn't deserve to win.

"Outworking" means literally nothing scoring-wise if you're swinging and missing.

But wasn't that why GGG supposedly beat Canelo in the first fight ? It certainly wasn't due to quality impactful punches because we all know who landed more of those. (Canelo)

No, it wasn't, and I personally never said that, so I'm not sure why you're putting those words in my mouth? Golovkin beat Canelo the first time because there are seven rounds in which he was the more effective fighter. Had zilch to do with workrate.

Oh really, and which 7 rounds were those ? Because last time I checked Canelo was the more effective fighter in rounds 1-3 & 10-12, and then you had rounds like 4 and 6 which he was also arguably more effective. Canelo was only truly outworked in rounds 7, 8 and 9, and round 5 Canelo was winning up until the final minute before GGG made that comeback.

I'm not putting words into your mouth I'm just pointing out that the general consensus among the vast majority of those who had GGG winning the first fight was due to GGG coming forward and outworking Canelo, remember the argument was that Canelo only fought in spurts and was backpedalling too much, not engaging enough? That was the argument, maybe not from you but from plenty who had GGG winning.

Well the same could be said for Canelo vs Lara, only to a much larger extent because unlike Canelo vs GGG in the first fight, Lara didn't land the kind of body shots or power punches that Canelo landed on GGG. As Floyd Sr said, Lara did too much running away, and he wasn't setting traps for Canelo like Canelo did to GGG in the first fight. Lara was just jabbing jabbing jabbing throwing light ineffective punches all night. Canelo was outworking him because he was constantly coming forward trying to cut off the ring, and landed a variety of punches. Lara was fighting scared, unlike Canelo in the first fight vs GGG who was setting traps and landing a higher percentage of impactful power punches.
