How tall are you? I'm 6 foot and they seemed fairly easy to me. I don't know, maybe I'm not doing them right. I can squat around 410lbs. though so that could be why they're so easy.
Same height as you but probably a lot slimmer. Strength wise I'd say I have a strong upper body for my weight but only regular legs :think If we're doing them the same way, I'd say your legs are ****ing strong. Was it all the way down?
Yep, all the way down and all the way back up. Barely even felt anything. But like I said before they could probably be adjusted to be more difficult if I wanted them to (more reps, more weight,ect.).
I've yet to try this, but I think you're right. As far as your torso, it looks like a static contraction/stabilization exercise with an added partial leg extension.
Still, something to ponder :think I'm sure many of you would add weights or whatever. Might be a good exercise. I just wondered if it existed already and had a name.
These gymnasts do a better version of it in this vid (skip to 00:20) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1egn6D4T82E&feature=player_embedded#at=22 The best way to do this by yourself at home would be to make a T-bar up and fix it at a 45 degree angle. You could jam your toes against the wall, make sure the top of the 'T' went across the back of both your knees, and then do them from there. That would probably be even better than the gymnasts version, because they don't have to strain very hard to start off, whereas you would because of the different angle. Dunno why that ****ing video won't embed.
