    Seriously?

So Frank would have to put the purse into the account a certain amount of time before the fight, and if he didn't contract is terminated.

No. I have an economics degree, but that was in the last century. If you don't use it, you do forget it.

I am serious. I am not afraid to ask if I do not understand a particular term.

In fairness, Richard, it's not exactly common parlance. Solicitors would rarely use the term with clients since it's legal jargon. It's a fair question - I just assumed incorrectly that, with said degree, you worked in a finance-related field.

The only reason I know is I've worked on communications projects for large business sales. Otherwise I doubt I'd be familiar with it.

    A) If you were only putting big arena shows on the TV hardly any boxing would be shown. A lot of prizefighter events are just held in small halls or leisure centers.

    B) Yes it is anoying when promoters do that but let's not pretend Hearn is an exception to the rule. Off the top of my head I can think of the Carl Froch vs. Yusaf Mack card and the Tony Bellew vs. Miranda card but there are much more.

Make it up as they go along half the people on here.

There allot more common in recent years after the crunch. So many people got stung. If your dealing with a man who closes his business down and starts up another one to not pay fighters its a good idea.

I like prizefighter but let's be honest, fair play for bringing that. It's good to have another promoter on the scene as they all have to work harder to impress the fans but let's not make out like Hearn promoter inspired to only impress the fans. He's doing a good job at the minute but they did use their influence at sky, the other promoters were not given any deadlines it was well publisized in Hatton's case and Hearn having a monopaly over British boxing would not be any better than it would if any other promoter did.

FFN was appalling, no argument there.

I dislike PF intensely. It's bargain basement boxing, aiming for the lowest common denominator. But they're usually well-attended and have some energy to them.

The issue for me is that boxing's entire business model is built around getting on TV for the most part. Very few promoters learn to make a profit (or break even) without the TV money and - as a result - aren't building the attractions that could bring solid attendance money in and generate the sort of buzz that brings TV.

Yeah it was snakey as out what ****** did to Calzaghe but trust me, from the small hall promoters right the way up to bob arum, they are all just as morally bank rupt as each other just some play the game better than others. I remember when De La Hoya was just getting big as a promoter and everyone thought the sun shone out of his arse because he was a young bloke who said the right things.

When I freelance I have a clear payment date and if they don't pay me by then, I notify them that I rescind permission to use my copyrighted material. Usually it's fine, but I've had a few occasions when a client tried to get my work for free. After one agreed not to use it, they (rather stupidly) credited me when they went ahead and used it anyway.

Froch vs Mack and Bellew vs Miranda would have been the best show of the year 3 years ago.

I don't recall Top Rank, Goldenboy, Matchroom not paying fighters. Thats the lowest of the low.
