This being a "Triple World Title" card, means this will be one our blockbusters for the month. Sunny Edwards is fighting a geezer i've never heard of,and no doubt got airlifted into the IBF ranking about a week ago? I'm not against women's fight, there is just a massive lack of depth. The two womens title fights on this card would barely be above English title level
Johnny Fisher is the new dave Allen, bang him on a card as a 'name' who will sell tickets Have said it before but 'deep' boxing cards are a thing of the past sadly
Not argueing with what you say just saying i am looking forward to the Fair enough but i am still looking forward to the Hughes v Courtney fight dont care what any body else thinks
......and that still won't be the end. You can just picture it in a couple of years. 'Courtenay (8-6) in a massive fight in an attempt to be a 2 time world champ'
There’s already a thread for this. Well it is a card featuring 3 World Title fights on the same night. I am pretty sure Boxxer and Queensberry don’t even have 3 World Champions of their own, let alone stage them all on the same night. It also has 2 good domestic fights right down the card. It isn’t the strongest of cards but it isn’t bad at all. Hughes Courtenay is 50/50. There are no gimmicks on the card. No Tommy Fletcher in a 4-rounder or Frazer Clarke against an opponent on short-notice. Compare the card to the Sky card on the same night headline by Adam Azim. The two 50/50 domestic clashes right down the undercard are equivalent to the BT show on May 12 which only has Zorro Burton and Hutchinson Madera.
Come on... just as there's no need for people to bring up Matchroom in every other thread, there's no need to mention other promoters here. It's an decent enough fight night show that maintains the DAZN schedule as promised, most of us won't be up or down about it. I wouldn't try to defend it and wouldn't slaughter it either - but "3 world title fights" with two of them in womens divisions that are barely white collar level, is a nonsense.
My response was because of the criticism the show received when if we are being honest it’s still better than the majority of shows the other top 2 UK promoters are putting on. I also can’t understand how people think Bellotti Khoumari which will likely be on Before the Bell and Clarke Jamieson are bad fights when they are so low down the bill too. The only fight on the main card which won’t be competitive / isn’t an intriguing clash is Johnny Fisher and that’s only because he’s the ticket seller. You know people are there to hate when they start mentioning the cost of DAZN to criticise the card rather than criticising it itself. The funny thing is that Hughes Courtenay will likely be the most entertaining fight on the card. It is also hard to predict.
DramaShow, the problem is that you refer to a ordinary standard show as something completely unique because Matchroom is the organizer. By the way : Did you see Hughes last fight on Fightzone ?
You do realise that those shows you are comparing this to are small york hall shows? They aren't supposed to be big arena shows like this is.
Okay, compare it to the Buatsi Stepien card on May 6. Tell me what you think. This Matchroom June 10 card is their weakest UK card apart from the Liverpool show that was ruined by 2-3 fighters pulling out. That shows how strong Matchroom’s UK schedule has been.
Can understand why everyone thinks you work for Matchroom. Cause it completely feels like it the way you post.
Not a great fan of Matchroom but aways have time for Drama Show as he provides a bit of balance v the haters
