Tommy Coyle and Darren Hamilton sign for matchroom. Coyle is massively popular in Bristol and will shift a load of tickets, exciting style. Hamilton, tough hardworking kid, not 100% sold on him though. How far do you think they can go?
No surprise with the Coyle signing he shifts tickets in that **** hole of a place you call Hull, Hamilton cant sell tickets think he's found his level this must mean that super grass Spencer fearon,Hard Knocks promotion outfit no longer exsists his last show was like 2 year ago
Coyle a perfect tie-in with Luke Campbell as well. A rematch with Derry Matthews would be a decent fight. Not seen much of Hamilton - think it might have been on that last Hard Knocks promotion at York Hall (October 2011?). Didn't Fearon's Real Fight Club white collar gym also go to the wall?
Coyle's a great signing. Get a roundrobin going with him, Crolla, Rees, Murray and Mitchell (although I think Eddie has him travelling the alphabet route) and you've endless quality fights. A shame that Derry jumped to Frank though. Would have liked to see that rematch. I don't know Hamilton but he seems an odd signing. 14-2 at 35 years old. What's the deal with him?
Coyle makes total sense. But Hamilton? Not exactly a crowd filler. Maybe a good fit for the undercards on Matchrooms big shows.
Maybe he has signed Hamilton just so he can free up the British Title at Light-Welter, get him a quick defence then get him to vacate and move onto a possible European title shot. Then the British would be free for one of his other fighters to fight for down the line (possibly Stalker). If Hamilton wouldnt have had a leading promoter I could have just seen him making ugly but effective defences of the British for the next year or so.
