Very interesting. I look forward to it and hope it's well done. I don't know a lot about the actor playing Duran. I'm a little leery of Al Pacino potentially playing Ray Arcel. Arcel was a modest and low key gentleman, and Pacino seems to have played every role over the top since Scarface. Strange casting there IMO. Hope it does Duran justice and I hope too much focus isn't on 'No Mas'.

Yeh Pacino could **** this all up, he's proberbly not the right actor to portray Arcel & i really hope they portray Eleta & King for the pair of ****s there were in this debacle:-(

Who'll play Freddie Brown??? Now thats the role for Pacino:yep

If Burgess Meredith was still alive he'd be a lock for it:smoke

Pacino man, this is what we need, if it's Pacino it's high budget, this is good.

I remember reading a story about Duran once running out of juice, crashlanding his helicopter into the sea and then swimming ashore. Anyone else hear that story?

He's a very good choice for Duran. Garcia Bernal is a quality actor.

Wouldya like ta see this scene in the picture?

When Duran was training to fight Carlos Palomino at Madison Square Garden, he worked out at Howard Albert's gym, an old factory loft in the Garment Center.

It was summertime, 'n sweltering. Every Latino worker in the area -- and their families -- watched their hero train at lunchtime.

The gym was a steam room -- jammed cheek-to-jowl with the adoring. They pressed so close Duran barely had room for floor exercises. When he was done, he bounded into the ring to shadow box.

Spanning what looked like a crowded subway car, you could see chests swell – faces beaming with pride. Plump mothers holding babies in their arms stood at the ring apron, while their little ones looked up saucer-eyed at this God.

In the midst of this outpouring of love, somebody in the back -- unbelievably! -- kept shouting at Duran in Spanish: "PIPINO CUEVAS WILL KILL YOU!

Duran paid him no mind and continued to shadow box. But the heckler was relentless: "PIPINO CUEVAS WILL KILL YOU! "PIPINO CUEVAS WILL KILL YOU!”

Finally, Duran fixed him with a glare, stretched as far over the ropes as he could -- just above the glowing faces of mothers and toddlers -- and yanked down his trunks, grabbed his nuts and roared in Spanish: "PIPINO CUEVAS CAN SUCK MY ****!”

I'd be very wary of any modern day actor playing Duran...you wanna see the Duran story, just watch a tribute vid or two and some full, good quality greatest fight vids of his. There also would be the hope that the movie would use real Duran fights for the fight scenes..as all hollywood fight scenes suck, no matter how well choreographed and coached, IMO.
