No disrespect to Collins he would undoubtedly have been a tough challenge for Benn at anytime, but the man he faced was not the Benn of old. I think Benn pretty much said this after the second Collins fight.
There was a nice Nigel Benn article in the sun, it's from last week so maybe people have already read it. He talks about the super 6 and modern boxing I enjoyed it http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...och-to-take-care-of-veteran-Glen-Johnson.html
Cheers for that bud, i missed it. Benn never does **** interviews does he, and is as honest has the day is long. Good to know he keeps tabs on boxing and his own weight in particular. Top man.
I disagree, look at what any great fighter says in retirement. They always give the most credit to the guys they beat. It makes their legacy look better that they managed to beat "their toughest opponent". Tyson credits Ruddock, Ali credits Frazier (granted he did loose to him once) but they never acknoweldge the guy who bet them as their best opponent. Collins had Benn's number any day of the week. Benn avoided Collins when he had titles, he only agreed to fight Collins when Collins had the WBO belt and Benn had lost his WBC strap
After a quick check of your hometown I noticed "Ireland" Biased paddy *****, Collins fought a past it Benn and Eubank
I remember when Nigel Benn was a co-commentator on BBC for some fight and he was asked about the set-up and he bluntly said "Well this isn't as good as the way ITV used to do it". Everyone next to him didn't know what to do. I think that was the last time he was on BBC. But he was right. ITV did boxing a lot better than when the BBC came along (with Fraudley)
Great interview ..He's right about Froch and fighters of his caliber they need to be fighting 4 or 5 times a year ..
Awwww bless ya Benn was shot after going life and death with g man, **** he lost to malinga atsch was does that tell you Collins could not of hung with a prime benn i think even he knows it :good He even backed out of fighting a green calzaghe i wonder why :hat
