if mayweather doesnt fight this year should he lose his p4p no 1 recognition due to inactivity?id rather him take the year off forget dlh 2 then fight cotto or mosley in 09.
Unless he retires, he's the king of the p4p rankings. I'd actually like him to fight in '09 and take this year off, Cotto in '09 :happy A DLH rematch wouldn't be such a travesty, there's more **** going on right now, Cotto - Gomez, Cotto - Mayorga etc. I would rather see DLH - PBF then Cotto - Gomez, no doubt.
pacs great but that aint happen.i dont see him beating marquez(jmm by clear ud)&hatton stops him in 4.
Well... I have Hopkins and Calzaghe very high on my rankings anyway so if the winner of the two will win BIG, I might rank him at the highest on my list, but just because Floyd is inactive and possibly only if Calzaghe will win - as he's undefeated, and was never beaten or came close to a defeat... and after April 19th he could show a really tough competition too. P4P is more like what youve done lately (Cotto, Pavlik) not what you are capable of (Gamboa). So considering Floyd's inactivity and that he can 'only' say that he beat Hatton (who defeated Urango and the shot Castillo before December) and DLH (inactive before the two met) recently, while when Hopkins and Calzaghe will meet they can say that they fought the very best before their fight (Hopkins: p4p#3 Winky - that's higher than Hatton ever was & Calzaghe: Kessler a champ himself and as big a threat to the SMW division as Cotto is at WW) - you gotta think about your p4p ranking again. So if Calzaghe can win big, considering his opposition, Floyds inactivity and Moneys lack of risk-taking (fighting DLH again while he should fight p4p-er Cotto) - you gotta rank the guy with the better opposition in the last 12 months higher. At least until September, but if Floyd will give us another snoozer after a year of inactivity, he won't climb back on my list until he fights Cotto... I see a bunch of you gusy already thinking how to jump on me but think before you do that. PBF is inactive and fighting an over-the-hill opponent whom he already defeated while P4P#2-4 PacMan is fighting P4P#3-6JMM, and P4P#2-4 Calzaghe is fighting P4P#2-4 Hopkins, and the winner is planning to take on p4p-er Pavlik...
p4p is all just based on personal opinions anyway,so when joe wins ill rate him no1 if fm doesnt fight this year
do you think he'll fight this year?if he beats dlh again what does that prove?isnt p4p based on what a fighters done lately?
I'd like to see Calzaghe recognised as P4P number 1 if he defeats Hopkins impressively and Floyd doesn't fight in 2008. Pacman is up there too and a win over Juan Diaz would put him in contention.
maywetaher will remain top wid pacman in second dats how its gonna stay dis year followed by in any order calzaghe, hopkins, cotto etc
