    well to sum it up...

    - said he could choose a fight he would fight bhop
    - told kelly pavlik to man up... if he really legitimately has a hand issue thats fine but if not man up... the fans want to see it, he wants to see it, the boxing world wants to see it so lets do it
    - says he took the kelly pavlik fight because everyone has complained about him fighting shorter guys so he took the pavlik fight to impress everyone
    - says he wants to knock off all the top dogs in boxing from pacman to bhop... says whenever he takes a fight everyone comes out of the darkness and calls him out but when he has no fight nobody steps up and it bothers him because he works out so much and it keeps him from his family... not really interested at fighting lesser guys at this point because he already fought at the bottom of the latter and now he wants to be at the top so he wants to fight the top guys....
    - said if goosen & mr peterson set up fights at 168 he would fight some of them
    - says he isnt sure about pavliks situation... believes he may have a hand problem but at the same time he doesnt know because why would he sign a contract the have the hand issue after the fact... if he had the issue before he shouldnt have signed the contract and then he also said he saw pcitures of pavlik from late august and his hands looked fine in the picture... says you can train through that type of issue and if the hand is still an issue by the time of the fight then he should pause the fight.... says he had a bruised rib in the margarito fight and he trained and fought through that

    those were the main issues

Paul is a great fighter will he live up to his potential?

Maybe if these fighters start manning up and acually fighting him, he might.

Consider he went twelve with Margo who probably had plaster in his gloves and it makes you really appreciate his guts and heart and hs stamina is just unreal.

I have always been very impressed by him.

according to paul he fought margarito with a bruised rib... if true thats very impressive considering all the body work margarito put in...

at the end of the day

    paul could retire with

    pavlik
    bernard hopkins
    shane mosley

on his resume.... that would be quiet impressive... i just hope he gets the chance to shine

Great. Another session of Pavlik hate and Williams ass-kissing from dumb and dumber. These pricks seem to think Pavlik's ducking Williams? I've said it before and I've said it again: If Pavlik didn't want the fight, and the staph infection was just an excuse, why did he a) ask for Williams, b) break the negotiation stalemate and c) sign the ****ing contract?

Williams is plain stupid if he thinks Pavlik training with one hand is in any way appropriate. You can't expect someone to lose between a quarter and a half of his camp for one of the biggest fights of his career, and there's no way you can expect a top performance from an athlete who isn't 100%. Yes, it's annoying; but you have to deal with it. And as Boo pointed out a while back, if PW considers his move up to MW anything more than temporary, he could use this time to build up a bit, because he sure as hell could use a little more strength against Pavlik, especially if he's looking to live up to the bull**** his camp's been talking about "testing Pavlik's china chin" etc.

I like Paul Williams, and even had reservations about this fight coming off, since I thought he could get a serious beating. But right now he's acting like a kid and a fool, and I'm starting to hope KP paints him across the floor.

    dont be mad at paul..

not sure if you listened to the interview or not but he flat out says

"if pavlik has a true hand injurry thats fine.... but if he doesnt MAN UP"

nothing is wrong with that... if anything blame the interviewer guys... they did sound kind of corny

I was objecting more to the part where he suggested that Pavlik should just put up with it and fight on anyway - where he claimed that he fought Margo with a bruised rib, where he claimed that Pavlik could go through training camp one handed, etc. Doesn't that sound a little dumb to you? It sure does to me.

I'm also getting irritated by the bad-mouthing his camp have done in the run-up to the fight. Obviously that's just part of the game in boxing, but it makes me side with KP.

Look I like Pavlik too paying a fighter a compliment is not ass kissing.

But to me Paul is the better fighter between the two, and Pavlik is possibly damaged, he needs to fight somebody and stop drinking.

well i have never boxed before ... nor do i know the severity of what pavlik claims he has wrong with him.... i mean if it was a bruised hand i actually could understand training through it...

    you could still run
you could still work on technique
    you could still work out

you would just have to go light on sparring probably...

but if what pavlik supposedly has wrong with him you CANNOT continue with .. thats a different story..

thats like a basketball player going through practice with a twisted ankle vs a torn ankle ligament.. it all depends i guess.. i understand what he is saying and at the same time his lack of knowledge is why he is saying it... but like i said he played both sides of the fence... "if he REALLY has an injurry.... thast fine... but if its something thats not so serious.... he needs to MAN UP"

so he played both sides of the fence

He can do training, but he can't go into training camp. To prepare for a fight, you need to practise combinations on the mits/pads, do heavy bag work to get your punch motion going, do strength training, and - above all - spar. There's simply no way to effectively do that with only one hand, and it makes a HUGE difference. Pavlik was doing some light training and conditioning while the fight was being negotiated. It's not like he's being lazy.

and paul covered that by saying "if he has a legitimate and real injury thats fine"

as a big pw fan i actually really like how he handled it because most guys would just run around screaming "kelly pavlik is scared blah blah blah" but pw actually gave him some credit by saying if the injury is real its fine...

Did Paul Williams really compare a bruised rib to a staph infection? Nobody ever had an amputation of died from a ****ing bruised rib. I like Williams and his trainer a little less evertime one of these fools opens his mouth.
