I would've given Pavlik the edge after the first Taylor fight, but I think the combination of this drubbing and the effects having to go back down to 160 would favor Abraham. Although, AA did have to drop out and postpone his last fight because of falling ill(which very possibly could've been from having trouble making weight). AA doesn't have to come down as much as Pavlik though.
Abraham stops him in a competitive fight, maybe even behind on the cards. Hopkins was hurting Pavlik left and right, Taylor nearly had him out of there, lesser fighters have had him hurt or down.
Abraham stops Pavlik late, i don't think alot of people realise the one punch power this guy possesses, he is a beast.
It was a toss up and still is. Ive been beginning to lean towards Abe and this fight doesnt change that.
Exactly as I saw it before; Abraham by K.O. Pavlik comes straight down the middle, Abraham has a tight defence. Two of the best finishers in the sport today, but Abraham picks his shots well, and I see him catching Pavlik late (10th round?) after a close, tense fight that has its moments, but ain't no Marquez-Vasquez/Cotto-Margarito style brawl. Artur Abraham has too good a defence. Even if Pavlik does get through, he'll have to knock Abraham's head off his shoulders to stop him fighting back!
Pavlik would never knock AA out, no chance. The people still picking Pavlik by KO are ignorant biased ****s. Pavlik is an accumulation puncher but he wouldn't accumulate against AA because AA has a very effective, tight guard. Pavlik would only get through with single punches and since AA has a proven chin those shots won't do anything to him. AA on the other hand has more than enough power in either hand to knock Pavliks head in the front row.
I think Pavilk has an advantage in height and reach and could do well for himself if he boxes tall. AA covers up well but would have trouble connecting if Pavlik fought smart like that. However, like I said before, I think Pavlik has potentially pre-maturely ruined himself and the combination of the drubbing he just took and going up and having to come down in weight now favors AA in this fight.
It would be interesting to see what Pavlik does when he feels the power of Abraham, his chin is a little bit shaky.
The way AA holds his hands would be very inviting for Pavlik to pound on them and through them all night long. Who would win...:think...id lean towards Pavlik
