In a nutshell , this is what i think about Mo http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=219758 But i was also surprised by Shields...I also find him to be rather one dimensional like Mo but damn !... These two have a big heart ! You can't take that away from them. Great ground control , great wrestlers. I'll admit , i don't like their styles. (though i respect wrestling , it's not really my cup of tea , i have tremendous admiration for legends like Karelin but as far as mma is concerned..i'd rather have a multi-dimensional champ). But like i always say , a win is a win. I'm really impressed by these two. I'm excluding Melendez because , i already knew what he was capable of. (i used to watch his fights when he was in pride & shooto)...so his victory over Shinya wasn't really surprising... But of course , that guy is also a legit talent in my book. Overall , these fights were still disappointing , hopefully , strikeforce's next event will be more action packed & entertaining.
Mo is talented, decent wrestling and his striking hasn't looked too bad because he usually close the show quickly. He has very poor experience and bad stamina. He can go up a good two or three levels. I'm very disappointed that Mousasi couldn't take advantage of so many flaws.
I was surprised that Shields was able to control Hendo basically the last 4 rounds and most people didn't think that would have happened. I think Hendo looked like he was 39 last night he was slow and plodding at some point the guy does have to slow down he really hasn't shown his age before this fight IMO. He also gassed which helped Shields control him. I thing for sure Shields needs to learn how to throw a punch, as good as his ground game is he might have the worst standup in the division.
