saw this today at the newsstand. skimmed through it real quick, but wanted to get home before the snowstorm. They matched Mayweather vs. 10 of the All Time Greats. I think they had him beating Henry Armstrong! Anyone with the magazine care to post the matchups listed? Thanks!
Here's what the article writer Gavin Evans had to say on the subject. Just so we're all in agreement, Gavin Evans has no credibility of any kind when it comes to boxing, and it shows here. Sugar Ray Robinson via Close Unanimous Decision over Floyd. Floyd by "fairly close but Clear Decision" over Henry Armstrong. Mayweather by Split Decision over Kid Gavilan. Sugar Ray Leonard via Unanimous Decision over Floyd. Charley Burley drops Floyd along the way to wining a close 15 round decision. Floyd on cuts in the 14th round over Jose Napoles. Floyd by Unanimous Decision over Carmen Basilio. Floyd by close but unanimous decision over Emile Griffith. Thomas Hearns via tko 13 over Floyd. Mayweather via 10th rounds stoppage (cuts) over Mickey Walker atsch
How in the hell is Mayweather gonna stop Mickey Walkeratsch:huh Also dont remember Hearns knocking out too many people so late in the fight.
Basilio would be a nightmare for Floyd. One of the worst matchups for him I can think of. Then again, I suspect he's not faring too well against any great Welter.
We all know only Manny Pacquiao is the only fighter that defeats everyone H2H.. Being as he is a top 5 ATG and all. The new right hook and straight left down the pipe on everybody.
I think Gavin Evans is the guy who stated "David Haye is easily the fastest heavyweight since a prime Muhammad Ali".
This is another way of GBP promoting PBF. I have stopped reading the Ring ever since DLH got his hands on it.
