Having gone over your analysis, it's plain to see you haven't seen much of the guys mentioned, least of all Napoles. He was a technical savant, so any edge in speed Floyd has would be immediately negated by Mantequilla's range control, punch picking, and timing. Not to mention his substantial edge in punching power and grit. Floyd is out-classed here.

 

theres absolutely nothing Floyd can do to be highly competitive with SRL, Hearns, or Napoles.

 

Personally I believe Mayweather has developed a welterweight body. He's put on atleast 5-10lbs of muscle since retiring. If Mayweathers serious about fighting some legit welters, we can maybe reevaluate his chances against ATG welter comp

 

Napoles, one of the most precise, accurate, technically sound punchers of all time was sloppy? The primary fighter I would show to a new-comer for balance and footwork was often off balance? Floyd holds his hands at his waist yet you criticise Napoles for having a lower guard, which he utilized because of his excellent anticipation of punches? Floyd, who couldn't even drop Zab Judah or come marginally close to hurting Baldomir, is going to drop a fighter with a certified granite chin who was never prone to flash knockdowns?

And by the way, that fight was indeed a change of pace for Napoles. He was usually a much more reserved type of fighter, who'd only switch up the pace when need be. That fight just goes to show how cool, calm, and collected he was even when putting the pressure on an opponent non-stop. I still can't get past you claiming he had balance issues, or that he was in any way sloppy. He missed a few punches, my God, I guess that makes puts him in the Gatti class!

Here's a more reserved Napoles against Welterweight champion Curtis Cokes, whom he completely shuts down with supreme technical acumen. Note the flawless footwork, defensive prowess, counter-punching, punch placement, and accuracy. As well as his ability to turn up and calm down the pace whenever he saw fit.

Floyd is being understated here as always. You put anybody in the ring with him not named Hearns and he can find a way to be competitive peroid. I see a million holes in the game of Naples in just that one fight alone. I would bet he makes the same mistakes in every fight. When you look at Floyd you are looking at a finished and refined product of years of boxing put together. He has a mixture of a lot of past fighters style put together in him and not just Roger and Mayweather Sr. Some of you younger than Crystal Clear Pepsi mother****ers need to go lay down.

In all honesty yes, Napoles is one of my favorite fighters. I choose my favorites based on their skills, nothing else. There is no bias here. Floyd is far from a great Welterweight and not in Napoles's class as an all time great.

floyd could compete with any of them and would win more then he lost.i could see him as a champ in any decade.maybe not undefeated but he would have a belt.he would not be a sparring partner or journymen or gate keeper or anything else for that matter.

mayweather was pro in 96 but i get hip to him in 98.so i know whats real and fake and hate.he would have been loss by now if he was less then great.he is great boxer, great boxers of the new can be talked about in the same sentence as great fighters of the old.

mother****er was really smooth as butter. seriously at that weight napoles has speed, power and movement advantages over mayweather. mayweather's defense and precision are brilliant and it's the latter i think that is their basis for the decision; if mayweather can target and repeatedly blast the same area over and over he could open up a cut on the weak skinned napoles. not likely but possible

 

He ducks down right in front of his opponent and is open to an uppercut while putting on the pressure. He is very hittable and his defense is average and his power and offense makes up for it though. His footwork is not refined as you but he just uses constant movement and applied intelligent pressure like say a Manny Pacman.. He is open to be countered when he throws those WIDE hooks of his. He throws wide shots see previous note. He is a tough son of a ***** that does great body work and he has great skills. But Floyd is better at him in most aspects of boxing especially footwork and speed and damn for sure timing and accuracy. Hence why Floyd can win fights with low output and he is the most accurate puncher in the history of boxing since compubox. And by a fairly large margin. You really are the same snot nosed mother****er you always been. So your bull**** is nothing new to me. I will watch more fights and come up with more holes.

 

That's the problem. He is to infatuated with the "0" to put his balls out there. That's always been the issue. How would Floyd rank up against the ATG's? But he won't fight the best to even be considered.

 

So you are biased for napoles, especially if you don;t think he looked slopy in that first clip.

That's the problem with talking boxing with guys who get their panties in a bunch when you even consider that another fighter can beat them.
