But Rafael Marquez hasn't had a win in nearly 2 years, in that time Cotto has had 4 defenses of his Welterweight Title including win's over Mosley and Judah and the jury is still out on the Margarito loss.
Never done this before but my top 10 is 1) Manny Pac 2) Calzaghe 3) JMM 4) Bhop 5) Vasquez 6) Hatton 7) Wlad 8) Calderon 9) Mosley 10) Darchinyan I have Haye at number 11 breaking into top 10 when he deals with Wlad in June :yep
because his one sole loss has a big question mark over it now, no one can prove it unless margo comes out and admits he had live gloves for his match with cotto we will never know so you can not judge cotto to harshly on that fight eventhough his gamplan was all wrong anyway he looked very very good for the first 6 rounds only his gameplan let him down, the tools he has are superior then most the welter's out there and he beat shane in a very close encounter
True, but i would still say Hatton has done alot more and is the King at 140lbs, Cotto will be in top 10 soon but not yet imo.
I rank Hatton at about #15 p4p. I remember just before the PBF fight I had Hatton rated as an A class fighter, PBF as an A+. Against Lazcano he stunk the joint but I thought he just had a bad night out. Hatton is a very good fighter, but at this point I think that I had overrated him following his win over Castillo. Maybe now I am underrating him. The Pac fight will tell alot.
i hear you PHILLA, that is exactly where im coming from i was over rating hatton before the castillo fight and after mayweather and lazcano i do not rate him now even the paulie fight did not answer the questions:verysad
This is a good list. :good It's about time that we recognize Joe Calzaghe and drop Rafa who had lost his fights in the list. To be fair, Hatton should be there in #9.
considering paulie was in survival mode from the 2nd round, what could hatton have done better? he beat him more convincingly than cotto. although a poor showing he won a very round against lazcano and he was competitive against pbf for the 6 rounds.
