Do you agree? 1 OLEKSANDR USYK Ukraine 24-0-0 (15 KOs) 2 NAOYA INOUE Japan 32-0-0 (27 KOs) 3 SHAKUR STEVENSON U.S. 25-0-0 (11 KOs) 4 JESSE RODRIGUEZ U.S. 23-0-0 (16 KOs) 5 DMITRY BIVOL Russia 24-1-0 (12 KOs) 6 ARTUR BETERBIEV Russia 21-1-0 (20 KOs) 7 JUNTO NAKATANI Japan 32-0-0 (24 KOs) 8 DAVID BENAVIDEZ U.S. 31-0-0 (25 KOs) 9 DEVIN HANEY U.S. 33-0-0 (15 KOs) 10 OSCAR COLLAZO U.S. 13-0-0 (10 KOs) There have been many changes in the divisional rankings as well, based on the week's results: https://www.ringmagazine.com/news/2U317eJiBJV7bpbNA2DPhZ
I wouldn't have Collazo in there ahead of someone like Boots. I'd have Inoue above Usyk, and Bam and Bivol ahead of Shakur. Stevenson at number 3, having never cleaned out any division, is pretty wild as well. Far too high.
I have Stevenson at #4 on my list, with Inoue #1, Usyk #2, and Ramirez #3. Usyk is my favorite fighter, but he's too inactive to remain at #1, while Inoue impressively defeated 4 prime contenders last year.
...and they get it wrong again, in no way, shape or form is Bam or Shakur ahead of Bivol in the rankings.
First two look right, order could be reversed but too close to call. One good display from Shakur against an overrated Teo doesn't warrant this ranking. Bud would be about here if he didn't retire. Good to see respect for the midgets but I am not sure about the order between Bam and the two killers at LHW. I can't see how Haney gets anywhere near this list apart from his demographic, ie politics. Jai Opetaia is being avoided like the plague, he should be in here somewhere.
P4P is meaningless. A supposition based on a fictional scenario. The HW champion is the real kingpin of boxing. But if i were to play the game then i certainly wouldn't prioritise fighter's who hydrate 15-20lbs overnight.
Stevenson being above Bivol, Beterbiev and Rodriguez this early is ludicrous. Shows American bias in their rankings again. Like when they had Adrien Broner at 5th. And when they used to have Timothy Bradley above Wladimir Klitschko. Also, they are too favourable to lower weight small boxers, 4 of the top 10 is way too much. Especially considering those weight divisions are just every few pounds, and have less boxers and are weaker.
