If you could introduce an idea or rule to make boxing more interesting. what would it be and why? i'd let the top ametures compete with some pro'z without turning proffesional themselves, sort of like a semi pro match up for them. they can rake in some cash and we'll get to see the wide cuban talent on TV, getting them recognition before the olympics.
Sounds good:good. they should do soming about the world titles, there are just too many versions. should have one or two
I would change the point system for championship rounds (rounds 10 through 12) giving the winner an extra two points for each round won.
Dont like that idea, too many fighters would just coast till the championship round! Bringing back 15 rounders is cool with me, or maybe even making 13 rounds the standard for championship fights!
I would hope that it would have the opposit effect, making the fighters to fight harder to win those rounds.
I would totally revamp the ranking system. No more Pavlik/Lockett or Abraham/Lorenzo type mandatory bull****! I would establish a system where you cannot move up in the rankings until you beat someone higher on the food chain. Mandatories would be once a year against the number one contender. The #1 contender would be in that spot because he earned it. In order to make this work you would have to find a way to make the sanctioning bodies co-operate, and THAT would not be easy.
Dissolve the sanctioning bodies, and make one linear belt for each division, constantly keeping competition fierce, and ranking equitable. Cut out the 'tween' divisions like 168 and 154.
I figured that's what your intention was, but IMO most fighters would put on slow and deliberate performances until the last rounds. The championship rounds would be action-packed though:good
Overtime is NOT a bad idea:think But it would only work effectively if the scoring can be determined ASAP(1-2 minutes) after the end of the 12th!
