New Sanctioning Body

Well, the IBO title has went from a fringe meaningless title. To becoming respect worthy over the last several years. They have had some pretty good champions recently.

Klitschko has a really cool World Title ring that the IBO gives out after 5 title defenses. The picture is of Lewis's, I couldnt find a picture of Klitschkos.


The WBA and WBC's own incompetents has allowed the belts like the WBO and IBO to gain ground. People get tired of seeing the John Ruiz, Evander Holyfield, Nicolay Valuev fight for the belt over and over and over again in terrible fights. And the WBC has been appointing 2,3, 4 mandatory challengers at one time, it is getting pathetic. Not to mention the WBA regular title and super title situation and the WBC's new Silver title.

Have ranking system that can't be bought and sold.
I think a BCS style system with muitiple pools. That is not admenastrated by the body is best.
Get the best boxers to fight for your belt.

 

...There are new ones popping up all the time, though.

 

Also, a really cool belt.

 

I'd get rid of all the other sanctioning bodies.

 

A simple rule that says you can't get into the top 10 without beating a top 10 fighter, and the champ can't defend his title outside the top 10 would make a huge difference.

A new sanctioning body would have to actually organize fights, not just sanction fights that are organized by other promoters. It would have to have a good amount of startup money and rank only fighters from the fights that are fought under it's umbrella. It would have to pay fighters not based on their drawing power but on their results.

It would also have to allow boxers to unionize against it, and have a negotiating process between the body and the boxer's union, not every boxer as an individual. So that the deal would be the same with everyone.

It would have to organize fights that have a clear path from one to another, not randomly one by one. Kind of like the super 6 does. It would have to have the same process for different levels of fighters, adapting the time frame to it.
