    Hi Guys,

New video I need some feedback on please.

I'm the guy in the blue singlet, I'm only boxing/hitting about 70% here as my sparring partner was not confident(even though he is fast and rather strong).

    Any feedback is good.

    Let me know! :bbb:bbb

I'm no expert, but I liked it. You were calm, pacing yourself, and every time you threw punches you moved out of the way well. You guard is also pretty good. Your opponent looked like he was going harder than you, I don't like when people do that, since you are both suppose to go at the same strength in order to get the best out of the session. Maybe he was nervous like you said, but anyway, next time go hard to the body, that usually does the trick with aggressive sparring partners. Once he calms down, you can go back to using 70%. Btw, if you want to work on something, how about you try pumping that jab, and pivoting out after the combinations, so that you can counter punch or just get out.

Nice Job. You have a good base for head movement. Practice and get better at it. Keep that head off center when not punching.

That looked more like boxing finally, good work.

Now your at the point where you need to start trusting your own instincts in order to make corrections in your technique/style.

    Good luck! :good

Looking good, here's a few tips:

    1. Your punches are good but, work on making them tighter. Practice in front of a mirror, and make sure your hands go straight back to your head as opposed to your body and then your head

    2. When you go back, don't go straight back. It's extremely hard to fight off the back foot and you don't have many options. Instead try pivoting and circling around.

    Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the feedback team, really positive stuff which is encouraging!

I do agree he was going pretty hard but that's ok I don't mind too much.

Does anybody have any tips/drills on making my punching more fluid, or have a bit more snap to them?? I would love to hear them.

In the mean time I have uploaded another video for you guys to take a look at :) have a look if your interested.

When the guy opens up, you go into your high guard. Which is whatever, I got a friend who does that, I wont suggest changing your style. I would suggest when someone has dropped their hands to their waist and are winging lefts and rights back and forth with both hands and you ARE in your high guard... Just throw a straight or a jab with him from the high guard. Your straight punch will have the inside track and beat him everytime. The ole' Catch and Pitch.

Over time you will get used to anytime someone throws an overly wide shot, you will catch it on your guard then fire the straight shot right back. If they dont act defensively responsible and return their hand INSTANTLY to their face you will catch them.

I'd also say practice stepping in with your jab. Someone coming forward and step forward with their guard up and jab at with it to close distance and put serious pressure on someone. Double and triple it up to bad mess with someone.
