Now how did you come to that conclusion based on what I wrote?

Every sentence you wrote contained a line like "he beat this guy recently", or "he has beaten that guy". It seems like many people view the P4P list as a "recent resume" contest, built around technicalities and bureauceacy. Rather than using resume as one tool to analyse ability, and then create a pecking order based on some subjective but informed consensous on that ability. Unless there is some established and clear framework, there is no point having some "this guy beat that guy who beat this guy" merry-go-round.

YOU ARE VERY WRONG, MY FRIEND... P4P list s work in different ways one from another, and that's because they are based solely on the author's perspective, NOT ON YOURS! That is, of course, unless you have the copyright for the p4p lists, maybe you invented the concept, and we all don't know about it yet!

The word recently doesn't appear once in that entire post.

These p4p lists are built around talent, resume, and accomplishments. You can't accurately judge someones talent until you've seen them against some good fighters. Caballero and Darchinyan have proven themselves(over their entire career) against numerous good fighters.

Hatton definitely belongs on anyones P4P if you ask me and i dont even like him but the man has fought champion after champion and very solid comp consitantly even after his loss he still fought stiff comp......

Cotto....hurt himself by fighting a give me fight...i think he should have went after a tougher fight but maybe it wasnt out there who knows.

No one has said he hasn't. However, I believe they are both more accomplished than Cotto.

Isnt the premise behind being pound for pound based of the idea that a fighters skill set will translate beyond his current division? With that said, ricky hatton doesnt deserve to be in the top 10 b/c when he stepped up in division against b-class fighters, he looked like the fighter he truly is(average at best). Pac, Bhop, Cotto, Mosley, etc.. have all looked good at multiple weight classes and should be above someone like hatton. Vic has looked very impressive since his defeat. I'm still waiting to be impressed by hatton.

You believe that Darchinyan is a better boxer than Cotto?

Or do you believe that Darchinyan has the better resume and accomplishments?

:huh What? 'b-class' fighters like Floyd Mayweather Jr.?

Hatton has beaten two P4Pers. He is the linear champ at 140, and in his last fight he KO'd the no1 LWW contender. To call him "average at best" is just a joke, and therefore your post doesn't even deserve this response.

Darchinyan's style and skillset give him a better chance to win against top level fighter's than is the case with Cotto. Darchinyan also has the edge in resume and accomplishments. Don't get me wrong, both are very good fighters. However, Vic gets the nod over Cotto at this time.

"Isnt the premise behind being pound for pound based of the idea that a fighters skill set will translate beyond his current division?"

only in the sense that if they were naturally bigger, how would you semise they would do fighting the bigger fighters. you don't have to move up through the weights to be a p4p fighter. if that was the case how was hopkins so high when he only fought at MW? hatton hasn't got the frame to move up in weight, but still won a belt at 147. there's very few fighters that would beat hatton at 140 if they were 140 fighters.

cotto couldn't make 140 anymore he was forced to move up, so he is a natural WW. were as hatton is a natural LWW, how would cotto do at 154 (although 154 is a poor divison whereas 147 is good, so not a great example).
