this is everyone who hates floyd scapegoat after the fight saturday. sure you haters picked him to win a ud. but im almost 100% sure that you thought it was going to be a so called pot shot to victory. you ****ers had no idea floyd was going to be the aggressor all nite long. with all that being said imho manny pac is no threat to floyd @ all. i was more worried about mosely than pac. look what clottey was able to do to that face with his bull**** offensive and so called defense. what the hell is he gonna look like after he faces the very best defensive and accurate puching of floyd?
I think the main problem some people have with Floyd(myself included) is that for all his undoubted skill he comes across as an arrogant peice of ****. Which makes it hard to support the guy.
For me was it was when he came back he claimed all the other 147 pounders had to 'sort out their unfinished business' before he would fight them and instead took on a much smaller guy and then didn't come in at the initially agreed on weight. Props on the Mosely fight but he avoided a lot in those two years gone, including a two year younger Mosely. Personally, I think he took time off for physical problems but we may never know. Hands?
You dont have to support the guy or even like him to admitt that he is at least one of the three best fighters in the world. Problem is so many even have a problem with doing that. Before the fight with Chico people were saying "NOW Floyd is fighting a real fighter" after the domination Chico was shot. Before the fight with Gatti people were saying "What is floyd going to do when he fights a guy that wont stop, and once Gatti lands some big" After the domination it was Gatti is shot. Before the fight with Judah people were saying "What is floyd going to do now that he fighting a guy that can match his speed" After the domination it was Judah is shot. Before the fight with Oscar people were saying "What happens when Oscar lands his left hook, floyd has never taken a punch from a guy that hits like oscar" After the domination it was Oscar is shot. Before the Hatton fight people were saying "What happens when Floyd faces an unbeatten fighter in his prime" After the domination Hatton was shot. Before fight with with Mosley people were saying "What happens when Floyd fights a REAL welterweight" After the domination Mosley is shot. There was a thread started here about a year or so ago, were a Floyd hater pretty much said that no matter who Floyd fights he wouldnt/shouldnt get any credit for. Williams would be too weigh drained Berto would be too green Mosley would be too old Pac would be too small. So the truth is poster like you and the others that say they want to see him step it up is, well full of ****. What you want is to see him lose. And if it doesnt happen then the fighter that he beat is shot, too small, too drained, too green, too old, or just not good enough. Its been the same crap for many years. I have seen and heard it all when it comes to this subject.
I think Floyd earned his haters by slipping in his competition after he enter WW division. People were expecting from him to be a real p4p champion but what he did was to cherry pick opponents, ignoring fans and running his childish mouth and retire early. I hope he finally grew up, and he is back on the track so there is hope he will have more fans than haters in the future.
Nah, its just a big fight. too often people want to tag fights as such. In my 30 years of being in and a fan of boxing I have heard this statement too many times. At least once every few years.
The problem is before the fight was signed everyone was saying that Floyd needed to fight Shane. But once the fight was signed clowns started to change thier tune. All of a sudden the 38 year old Shane who just came off of one of his best wins is a 40 year old shot bum. Get the **** out of here with that bull****. Whats would your story be if the fight with pac happens and Floyd dominates him??? Because believe me there will be plenty of excuses. As I said in my post before there always is, and will always be until floyd loses, and floyd will loses sooner or later. I think when people look back in 20 years floyd will be seen as the greatest fighter of his era. No doubt about that. Right now there is too much hate, and there has always been hate around fighters that dominated thier era.
To the guy who said stfu and welcome HILLARIOUS. To the people who say it's because PBF is an arrogant *****... uh YEAH. This isn't team sports. You don't have a home town rooting interest. Unlike the hispanic and european fighters floyd doesn't have a built in nation behind him (we are too much of a melting pot here) So to hype up the interest in yourself talking trash is one of the quickest ways to it. Hell Ali showed us all that. I think the trash talking is funny because i don't take it serious. What i DO take serious is that the guy trains harder than anyone else in the sport. I mean it's unreal what this guy does. To have that much money (even though i believe he has a gambling problem) and still train that hard at a sport where you take so much punishment, to me is amazing. Floyd is arrogant, and obnoxious but that shouldn't take away from his status as a top flight boxer. On a final note, a lot of people want to talk about competiton and ducking people. The one thing you have to take into consideration is the money. It's a job, its not the UFC you get paid differently depending on who you fight. Taking the Hatton fight over mosley just makes more sense business wise. Fighting DLH over Margarito just makes more sense. Paquiao makes the most monetary sense right now, even though a move up to 160 to fight Sergio i feel would be a tougher fight. Pacman is where the money is at.
