2 episodes in and 'chicken salad out of chicken ****' is already the most played out phrase on TV. Brock is even more of a **** than I first thought, and I thought he was a complete **** then.
Damn right. Too much Brock this season, not enough training footage and not even any popcorn house drama
am I the only one who likes it? I liked pretty much all TUFs that I can remember,I like to see them train, struggle,I like to know more about the fighters,I even liked the first fight,I was hoping to see him drop some elbows, but I liked....
As I saw the last episode, I had the urge to watch the last season of TUF instead. It was more entertaining, had better fights, amazing guest coaches (from GSP), and lots of pranks and trash talking (from Kos). These group of guys seemed rather lame to me. I think it was a mistake for the show to drop that first fight in order to get into the house. As the fights roll in, we've never seen any of them fight before (for the most part at least), so there's almost no feeling of anticipation.
the new episode sucked hard. why cant they have it like the tito - shamrock or chuck - couture? those where fun seasons
It's on ESPN in the UK now, they're bringing us up to date by screening the first two episodes back-to-back. These fighters appear pretty generic guys thus far. JDS is too nice, Brock not doing too much. Sonnen doesn't look like he's gonna' get off lightly, and Bisping has already done a stint. If Pettis and Edgar win their respective fights, why not let them coach the little guys? Be a great way to hype their fight as well, which I assume no one will have a problem with Pettis getting if he beats a tough contender in Guida? Bar getting clobbered again, I fail to see how Edgar will lose/draw to Maynard this time.
Brock is such a dick. That guy just won a fight he was expected to lose. Before the fight Brock was saying how he can only do so much with his **** team (that he picked, and had FIRST pick) making an excuse before the fight even happened. Then after he won the fight Brock started saying the chicken salad line in front of the guy who had just won. Basically claiming the credit for the W. And did you notice when he was lecturing the guys about how hard it is to do JJ etc when being punched? THE ****ING IRONY! That flat top headed MoFo covers up, turtles and verbally taps when he gets hit. The 'chicken ****' that won the fight showed heart and toughed out the win. But he did look crap to be fair.
I haven't seen all the previous seasons of TUF like some of you guys clearly have. But I wanted to know, at least from the first two episodes so far, how does Brock stack up among the prior TUF coaches? Is he near the bottom or is he more comparable to the average TUF coach? It's a given that he's knowledgeable when it comes to wrestling, but the talks he gives aren't uplifting at all. If anything he's kinda demoralizing, always talking down on his fighters.
I think that even if you had never seen a human being before you could still work out that Brock is a terrible coach.
It is impossible to judge how good or bad any TUF coach actually is as a coach except by what the fighters say about them after the fact in unedited interviews. It is designed to be captivating television, taking 4 days of non-stop filming and turning it into like 20 minutes of television (whenever you factor in commercials and the fights at the end.) It really is impossible to judge the coaches fairly. The ONLY exception to this rule is Ken Shamrock who almost certainly is the worst coach of all time.
I think that most of the coaching is probably coming from Lesnar/Dos Santos' assistants to be honest.
