Ive converted...this is the best Ive seen of Duran at lightweight. The 3rd he was more the complete package but it didnt necessarily work any better.

He absolutely owned Dejesus in there..He faced a better version of Dejesus in this fight then in the third. How people could expect Dejesus to be the same fighter in third fight is beyond me now.
He had the confidence of previously besting Duran in their first encounter coming into this fight...He was young, hungry hadnt gone through the Cervantes debacle...was coming off a very solid win over Peppermint.

This was an absolute peak DeJesus getting dominated, crushed and force to quit in there.
Thats why Im really putting more stock into this win...I cant think of a lightweight that beats Roberto that night. But I think he lets things a bit to close against guys like Pea and Ortiz if he fought the more tactical and reserved way he did in the third fight.

Amazing performance from Duran; he has to be the most intense fighter in history. Thanks for putting it up Addie.

This is why i'am a disciple & why he is idolised:D This was the fight that got me hooked & possessed when i was 17 years of age:D back then this was who we all wanted to be:yep

Relentless/remorseless & unstoppable & i doubt anyone has ever seen anything or anyone so intence/vicious & driven with the desire to annihilate his opponant than the great duran & when you consider he was fighting one of the best box/fighters of the time who would have ruled the lightweights himself if not for duran being around:deal

I watched the first 6 rounds with my son a few years back with the volume down as i wanted to drown out that pratt percheco's commentry. My son was all a raving about Ricky Hatton & obviously wanted to make the comparison as equals:lol: I just said watch this you little ****, he was exhausted, he could'nt believe the pace of the fight & the brutality in comparison to some of todays fighters/fights including Ricky.

I'd always baited him as dad's do in saying that duran would have butchered Ricky in 4 or less:yep this was the 1st time he'd ever seen the lightweight duran & for once he just sat there gob wide open & silent then got up & left:rofl
