I believe it, like I said if the government finds out you defected they make you family's life hell.

Let me tell you something, him and the cuban coach were always butting heads mainly because Duvergel was always drinking, sleeping with women and partying all the time, the coach would work with a boxer in his weightclass for years trying to find someone to take Duvergel's place but then Duvergel would show up in the gym with a few shots on rum in his head a knock them out. The olympics was a huge mistake man the coach told him to get out there and fight when he had the fight clearly won, I remember seeing an interview with Reids coach at time when he told Reid "listen you can't beat this, just go out there an trow a huge right as you guys get at it" and he caught him.

Duvergel is a sad story of a great talented fighter put down by a coach who everyone respects and with drinking problems men, if you go to Isle of Pines you can find him at any local bar talking about how good he was and constantly getting into fight with people.

i think you Cuban-fans would like a little bit more about Cuban fighters. You just write these words : dc amateur boxing cuba . Then you find the january 2009 ranking and the july 2009 ranking in all weight-classes. My information on the fighters ranking was from the january ranking, and there is a lot of changes in the july ranking. If you want the results quarterfinals,semifinals and finals you might find it with: playa giron boxing. Then you find results for many Cuban championships. Good Luck. Solis will beat Vitali !!!
