New WBC rule to help Chavez keep his tiltle?

    Well how long ago were those fights? The rule becoming effective July 1st, 2012.

    Just the timing seems a little suspect.

    I agree with the fundamental idea of the rule though.

    Those were about 5 years ago. JLC came in heavy for the rematch, but Chico still took the fight. When JLC came in even heavier for fight #3, Chico didn't take the fight.

    Yup and Levander from what I recall had to crash diet to make the weight for this fight...

    Not sure how much Chavez put on going into the fight but it was clear early that the fight should have been stopped Johnson had no answer :verysad

    Sounds like BS.

    IF the have a weigh-in honor the weigh-in the extra **** is foolish.

    They brought the weigh-in the day before the fight for a ****ing reason.

    The rule has basically no effect on Chavez whatsoever. He has to weigh no more than 176 pounds at 9am the morning of the fight. He was 180 in the ring in his last fight, so expect the same here.

    How do you you know he wasn't 180 the morning of his last fight? Or maybe he was 177 in the morning and was 180 by night.
