I know guys like Green, Geale, Meehan, Dib and all the other top Aussies. But who are some of the better prospects? I watch a lot of boxing but since I live in America it's hard to keep track of much aussie stuff, Since most aussie cards start at 2-5 AM in my country.

So back to the question, Who are some of the best less known guys? One of the prospects I like ( And one of the few I actually know ) is Will Tomlinson, Saw his last fight on the Wlodarczyk-Green card.

Paul Flemming 13 (10)-0-0.... bit of a flashy south paw. had a brilliant amatuer career. He has fought in the states but im not sure if he's made the permanent move over there.. could be a good one to keep your eye on. Fleming VS Tomlinson would be a good Aussie scrap.

Wale Omotoso 21 (18)-0-0... Not technically an Aussie, he's native Nigirian but made the move to Aus years back to begin his boxing career. carries good power in both hands. Far as i know though he's made the move to the states as well and is training at Wild Card

Omotoso needs to tighten his defence up. He is getting hit too easy by journeyman fighters.

Fleming still has about ten stiffs to go before he steps up i reckon. :yep

Apparantly our greatest undiscovered prospect lives in Albury and when he finally does turn pro, will revolutionize the sport.

I agree Fleming has been brought along a little too softly...time to at least step it up a bit.

Does Fleming make your padded record list Kegsy? Looking forward to having a read of it. Which weekend were you planning on having it finished by?

Sam ah see, he seems to be the goods. Big power for a young kid, good head on his shoulders.

Joel brunker should come along well in 2012.

No apology necessary mate. I'm looking forward to seeing who takes out the non-coverted #1 position.

Its all good mate just been moving house, so havent had time to 100% complete it with all stats.
Its going to have some good statistics (bad for the fighters in question), also info about why they were chosen etc.

Some are prospects taking it a little too slowly, while others are just record padding.

Its all always open to debate of course.

Francis could probably answer for you who is number 1 by the way.:D

I will start with numbers 15 thru to 10 on Wed, leading to number 1 by the wkend.

Will be good to look back on in 12-24 months & see if anything has changed.

I'm sure you'll be allowing for late withdrawals of opposition etc when you compile this list Kegsy?

Matty Garlett is 1 to watch good amateur career, very humble kid who hopefully ventures out of WA soon to take his career further.

You cast aspersions on Kegsy's ability to be accurate with boxing stats.
Then you expect us to believe an archival thread, that you resurrected, where Kegsy is
supposed to have admired the size of your " doll".

I think Kegsy deserves the right of reply.
His integrity is rock solid in my book.

I've seen a few of Matty's fights, almost wrote him off after his fight with Arang, ate a lot of uppercuts that night but has been with Willsy & Craig Christian since and looking much better. Was actually in his opponents corner for his last fight and though he got the win, was made to work for it. Not sure that he'll leave WA to pursue a career though.
