Manny should do the test for the Clottley fight just to prove a point that his success is down to hard work in the gym not drugs. Manny is a winner.

General response to this nonsense. Someone earlier asked, "Who is G. Leon?" In case no one has already provided this info. He is one of the MOST respected young professionals within the boxing industries. He is the founding editor of the boxing site @ www.boxingtalk.com Fighters, promoters and most writers (except Raphael) respect and admire him. He's usually non biased unless you've gone out of you way to disrespect him or done something he regards as senseless. He's very outspoken about trying to ensure that the PUBLIC gets the fights it wants to see. In this case, he's on record as believing that Floyd should've made his demands in private (to allow Manny's camp the opportunity to negotiate this issue in private). Teddy spoke to him due to a mutual respect, but didn't pull any punches. I thought it was a good interview without Greg Leon allow his own biases get in the way of Teddy Atlas spilling his guts, (which he did). Only myopic Pac fans will see this as bogus. Atlas has no issue with either fighter, he's simply providing his opinion. If you didn't see his Friday Night Fights interview, go watch it carefully and listen to his comments, then come back and speak your mind. He simply reported what he'd been told. Since Arum is demanding an apology, he stated who his source was, who they work for and who Arum's beef really should be with.
To all of those talking about emails being manufactured, while this IS possiible, it is FAR TO EASY to disprove (as many of other posters have stated). Atlas also spoke to this issue. The PAC team is filled with his BOYS, not a team of professionals. Someone could've done this without any authorization.
To those who scoff at the request for testing. I say your a bunch of hypocrites. For all other PED related issues, you've probably been on the other side. The ringmaster who has already answered every question related to PED manufacturing, testing, scheduling, masking agents, and techniques is Victor Conte of BALCO fame. They kept intricate records, calendars, etc... to track their athletes. This enabled them to stay a few steps ahead of the game. I have 28 years experience in the pharmacuetical industry and am fully qualified to make the following statement. Those who want an edge, can always find one because there is more funding for R & D than there will ever be for counter intelligence in this arena. There are everyday medications that athlete's use as PED's that aren't even tested for. Also, every sport has different standards for testing. This fact favors Mayweather's request to utilize Olympic standard testing.
PAC's moving timetable for testing and outright defiance regarding testing is what makes me wonder. There is no medical evidence that supports his claims of adverse effects based on the timetables presented. Hell, the American Red Cross removes a pint of blood, provides you with a cookie and juice, then sends you on your merry way. Fourteen days is more than enough time to recoup for fight night. In contrast, PAC's own strategy of this "catchweight" nonsense provides him with a distinct advantage over his supposedly larger opponents. Depleting one's body of all life sustaining nutrients and fluids to make weight while your opponent is eating the most nutritional meals on the planet because he's has weight he can gain is a distinct advantage for Pacquiao.
Finally, Mayweather has every right to request that his opponent be CLEAN and the playing field be level. Boxing is a brutal sport. Your very LIFE is at risk everytime the bell rings for Round 1. I ask that all boxing fans take your personal likes and dislikes out of the equation and use your minds. As Teddy Atlas puts it, who would walk away from 30+ MILLION DOLLARS for a syringe full of blood. No one except Manny Pacquiao...

i think the fact that pacs team is so secretive about the supplements he takes make them look even worse...whenever anyone is asked they wont say, they just say 'supplements, its all natural'...ariza always says manny doesnt know what he's taking, yet roach claims they cant even get him to drink a protein shake or take an aspirin? sounds fishy to me

    :hi:

Hi Greg, your post is so ridiculously wrong on so many levels. Teddy didn't just provide his "opinion" .. he went on an internationally televised boxing show and attributed an email which may or may not have ever existed, with the insinuation Manny is concerned about being caught on steroids, to a "source". Do you realize how unprofessional that is for a guy in his position? Secondly, as to the issue of a manufactured email being "FAR TOO EASY TO DISPROVE" -- well, if Teddy or his source actually had the email, then yes, you could probably easily prove whether it came from a legit address or not, but NEITHER HE NOR HIS SOURCE HAS THE EMAIL! His source is going on what he "saw" and even worse, Teddy is going what his source SAYS he saw! Finally, while he and his team (especially Arum) certainly deserve blame for this fight not coming together, Floyd and his team are every bit as much to blame, with their reluctance to negotiate to the 24 days before the cutoff date. With random urine tests in the mix, and locker room test immediately after the fight, and usually most boxers ramp down from full training about 1 week before fight night, how much of a window do really think he would have for PEDs to be effective in the training leading up the fight? Manny walked away more on principal than any fears of being caught.

There will always be bias in Atlas with these steroids allegations as he himself believes PAC is on roids. He said it himself, he can not believe a guy could move up that much with so much power. I guess from now on, nobody should ever consider moving up and take on and beating the bigger guys, YOU WILL BE TAGGED 100% ON ROIDS IF YOU DID.

    I am a 5'7" 180lbs muscular guy. I was 115lbs already 5'7" when I was fifteen. I guess I must have been on roids...
