I've always thought the same thing. If GBP/Top Rank/Al Haymon do shows somewhere and their fighter doesn't get favorable decisions from the judges in that city, they probably will start putting on fights in another city where they think they can get favorable judging. The promoter putting on the show pays the judges, and I bet if you never judge the way the promoters saw the fight, they will take business elsewhere. I don't think its as elaborate/violent as old noir movies or anything... But there is an aspect of, "if I want to keep my job I should see the fight Al Haymons way" or whatever other promoter is paying for the event.
The evidence is judges with awfull scores consistenly get reassigned; again, again and again. The mexican crook who gave Hagler only 2 rds against Leonard still gets assignements to this day.
Great post,I always find the drug testing thing funny as well in that they're also getting paid by the teams and so how can they be doing their job right? I know I go on about Ward and with his resume it's hard to find fault but re the ref how would the sport of boxing be if everyone were allowed to jab n hold/wrestle for 12 rounds?were not talking Duran style inside fighting just plain old wrestling, how the ref l to it happen and how the judges are supposed to judge that stuff inside a boxing ring confirms the corruption you mentioned.
Take a look at some of the really bad decisions, Kovalev beat the living hell out of SOB Ward, but the judges decided the scored before the fight even started.....................the crowd booed, but criminal judges just laugh at the fans.........
Don't be ridiculous no one beat the hell out of anyone in that fight and Kovalev basically gave up towards the end, his fault he didn't finish the fight as well as he started. If you're gonna talk about a bad decision choose another fight, Kov-Ward could have gone either way
