Nah man by then Golovkin, lemieux, and pirog will be running the show at SMW. Martinez is good but he's been feasting on flawed fighters. He has very good physical attributes so that should help him....but there are many absolute beasts on the way....lets hope he's got a good chin cause thats the real attribute he's gonna need if he fights the cream of the crop in the next two years.

I'm gonna go ahead and say Maravilla has worked too hard to get where he is right now, he'll manage to avoid the WBA unification fiasco which GGG is part of, and manage to avoid Pirog as he isn't as high on the popularity scale as he should be for either Martinez or HBO. Probably a combination of both. However I don't see how he's getting out of a Lemieux fight within the next 1.5-2 yrs. The WBC seems to be pushing the interim/silver/intertnational/#1contender outcome with this eliminator, and we'll hear about a Zbik fight soon. Just don't know against who just yet.

Thing is, for all we know, he walks all over David. He's got the style to do it, unless we see different from David in his next 2 fights.

That is problaby why the Martinez/Pirog fight wasn't made? Either way I don't mind, as the Dzinzurik/Martinez is also a DAMN good fight! Hopefully Pirog can get a quality opponent and then fight the winner of Dz/Martinez?

Pirog would knock MArtinez out with his relentless pressure. Martinez remembers what Margarito did to him, and wants no part of this Pirog guy who looks even better than Margo.

Nobody here in Moscow knows who Dmitry Pirog is. When I ask people about him they laugh at me, because pirog means cake in Russian.

Hbo might not want to really market him, they like latins an american, pacman is the exception to the rule.

    Hahaha!
    Dmitry Cake.

That particular cake is very good, though.

Pirog has a lot of problems landing a fight, what he should do is beat a guy like pavlik and just be active in the us fight 3 times a year, learn english and get yourself noted. Create a soviet union vs america image I dont care, anything better then sit around waiting for things to happen.

I'm not defending HBO's "list" but a fight in Russia won't improve your chances to get an HBO fight.

He should be fighting a decent name in the division now and not relying on getting the fight at home, i remember he says he want to entertain, so go ahead and do that then, if not then get a new manager

If he wants big money, he needs to stay active in the US and build his name up. A fight with Martinez at the end of 2011 is real possibility if he becomes a bigger draw.

Boxing is probably not very popular over in Russia... why is it so in Ukraine, are the Klits the only reason boxing gets thrown on tv there? Golovkin should have lots of fans in Borat's homeland... but I bet he doesn't. That's ****in sad.
