I'll believe it when I see it

no way Oscar gives Canelo to Floyd without being very confident about his cash-cow winning

Canelo won't fight Floyd. Canelo needs to actually fight a live opponent with an actual chance of beating him, at his own weight class before he is anywhere near ready for Floyd.

That would be great call me crazy but i think Canelo would give Floyd hell, doubt it happens this year though maybe in 2013.

What did Clottey do to derserve a shot with Pacquiao in a stadium that holds almost 100,000? And why hasn't Guzman got his shot at Pacquiao at 130lbs, 135lbs, 140lbs. Several quality fighters coming off of their best wins, belt holders including Lineal Title Holders have been trying to get a fight with Pacquiao FOR YEARS!!! But what does Team Pacquiao continue to do is rematch fighters that are past their prime, have nothing to offer in the way of status and fighters Pacquaio has already beaten (MAB twice, Morales and JMM 3 times a piece). And know Team Pacquiao is looking to rematch Cotto and a fourth fight with JMM...C'MON MAN!!!

When Pacquiao chose to fight Clottey...to me, they have given up the right to ask the question

Clottey was a COMPLETE UN-KNOWN (even to members of his own family), he held NO title or belt, coming off a loss and Team Pacquiao fought him in a 100,000 seat venue on PPV...WOW, UN-****ING-BELIEVABLE.

"fit the usual pattern" of how Team Pacquiao chooses their fights. They are both past their primes. But Guzman and Judah actually want to fight Pacquiao....And he would finally be in the ring with fighters that have

So in the end....we all know what Team Pacquiao will do:

They'll choose someone under the TR Banner, someone they have already fought and beaten. JMM 4, David Diaz II, Hatton II, or maybe even Clottey again.

Not an assumption, I would call it more of an educated guess. Canelo so far in his career has looked to be the patient, methodical type who waits for/tries to force openings, at which point he lets loose with explosive bursts of action more than a continuous onslaught. What I was saying is a lot of Mayweather opponents have thought continuous, sustained activity is the only way to fight him, but Canelo (for reasons related both to his style and possible his stamina as well) has never shown an inclination to do that.

Also, as for the Mosley fight, I'd hardly call Mosley successful. A good amount of people on here favored him to beat Canelo. But Alvarez beat the dog**** out of him and dominated the fight. Mosley won just one round- the first, when Alvarez basically did nothing, allowing him to win the round off the strength of flicker jabs and outworking Alvarez. Every other round, Mosley got battered and heavily outlanded with hard, clean, accurate shots while being unable to land much of anything of real consequence in return. His best blow of the entire fight was a freaking headbutt!

Alvarez is better than he is given credit for. He's no walk in the park for Mayweather even right now.

mayweather is a great fight for canelo. floyd doesnt have the power to hurt canelo and even if saul loses it wont be bad for his career as it will be on points ala dlh and not corrales/gatti.

saul losing to molina, lara, vanes or bundrage would be bad. getting ko'd would be devastating.

floyd is the best risk/reward fof canelo and gbp knows it.

He has been shown to be patient, but my main point is, he has never been in a bout of this magnitude, or even close. We don't know how he will react, will he freeze?

Alvarez is patient, but he has also shown that he only wants to engage when he wants to, his opponents so far have let him fight at his own pace, and when they have forced him to engage, they have had a little success.

Alvarez v Mayweather will be fought at Mayweather's pace, not Alvarez's pace if the bout is ever to happen. Too intelligent, too experienced.

Would have liked to have seen Kirkland before this bout even being considered.

If Mayweather signs to fight Canelo at 154 i will give him serious props. In my mind he will crush Pacquiao for recent competition

Manny did not approach Floyd once, since starting negotiations.
