Hrgovic DuBois is a really good and interesting fight. I favor Filip but DuBois has faced better fighters in his career. It’s a close contest. Looking forward to it.

Hrgovic has a granite chin but Dubois can punch holes in castle walls and has good skills and a proven engine on him after his last performance. It's a quality match up and even Hrgovic admits in the interview I posted that his development has been hampered because he's never had the backing and finances behind him like US and Brit fighters do, especially Olympic medalists and top amateurs like he was

Would I prefer AJ to Dubois? Sure, whatnot? I'd love to see him crack AJ's jaw and throw a huge spanner in the works of that smug Essex boy creep E-Hearn's plans who has bent over backwards and done everything within his power to develop and guide his golden goose AJ's career, as he did with that cretin Haney's, but he wasn't prepared to invest in Hrgovic like he needed to and should of when he was his co-promoter.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. If Hrgovic had AJ's backing, training setup, opportunities and was able to develop the correct way he would've been a world champion long ago and could've achieved everything AJ has. I see no reason why not he has the size, power - AJ hits harder but I believe this is an area where Hrgovic could've improved upon - the skills, but he has a much better chin than AJ. Not saying AJ has a bad chin but he would've been out cold had Big Bang cracked him with 50% of the shots he cracked Hrgovic with and as much as I love Usyk he ain't hurting Hrgovic with single shots.

I doubt it, but who knows with Boxing.....
Usually IBF have to first strip and then to mandate the fight between their number 1 and number 2. But Dubois is number 4 so they may do it. The big question is how the heck Dubois is ranked as number 4 ???

Yeah it should honestly be Joyce vs Dubois 2. According to the media Joe has declined while the other is slowly improving. It would tell us where they actually are

Hrgovic would dominate Dubois, mismatch. I would rather see Hrgovic vs Bakole or Whyte honestly

I thought Hrgovic lost to Zhang, and looked pretty terrible in doing so, so I'm not as high on him as some. Dubois would be a decent opponent for him.

I disagree a little bit... On paper I think it's probably about right - on hype it's a mismatch, but we know what hype is often worth.

They say "pride comes before a fall", in boxing the equivalent is probably more like "hype comes before an upset"...
Because more often than not, hypejobs lose fights people expect them to win, and win easily (both Wilder and Zhang against Parker, Joyce against Zhang, etc).

    Honestly...
I'd just be happy to see Hrgovic accept a fight with literally anyone remotely proven - it's the first time he's done it (considering Zhang hadn't beaten a single top-200 rated fighter when Hrgovic took that fight)...
And a Dubois fight would ask very different questions from the Zhang fight, so it'll be both good experience for him and it'll tell us more about him.
I don't see any need to throw him into what should be (on paper) a mismatch against the likes of Joshua... As much as I'd be happy to see the hypetrain derailed.

It was a close fight... I think Hrgovic just shaded it, but a UD flatters him.

I refuse to jump on the hypetrain for someone who's fought so little at world level and proven so little.

Yes, he looks decent, but the hype is getting silly for a fighter who's only beaten one guy - who can bang but has a terrible gas tank and is pretty damn slow.
That's not to underplay Zhang's threat, but a great chin alone doesn't make a serious top tier contender (just ask Joe Joyce) - you've got to prove a lot more than that before it's reasonable to get that kind of reputation.

To be honest Hrgovic has no decent wins except zang, he needs this fight to whether he’s got it or not. Got to respect ddd, since he lost to Joyce he has been active and fighting decent fighters.

I don't think Dubois is as easy for Hrgo as some are saying - he showed some great heart and grit against Miller, and of course Hrgovic is a totally different proposition to Big Baby, Dubois showed a lot in that fight that he might be able to at least push Hrgovic close than many are thinking.
