Ahmet Oener of Arena Box-Promotion has rejected an offer by the Klitschko camp to let his protégé and former cruiserweight champion Juan Carlos Gomez fight WBC champion Vitali Klitschko for a purse of $1.5 million. He says that this fight will be worth around $9 million which would mean his fighter to earn $2.7 million. So both parties are heading into a purse bid and to answer K2’s Bernd Boente, who says that this fight is of no interest stateside, Oener says that he’ll offer HBO this fight plus a championship fight involving his big talent Yuriorkis Gamboa given that he beats Elio Rojas in early January. nice. btw i just learned Gamboa vs Elio Rojas is in January? They want a lot of money for someone like Gomez. No one knows who the **** he is!!! Shocking that heavyweights like Gomez want to or do get paid that much when real warriors like Vasquez and Rafa Marquez get much less.
not for those who know **** all about the sport. Gomez is mandatory and therefore is entitled to a legitimate share of the pot. He's not some voluntary defence.
vitali should be fighting gomez since he is the mando he owes the wbc that since they gave him a title shot after four years of inactivity. so then haye could fight wlad thats the real fight right there all the **** talking between them two has been going on since last march and at this moment wlad is considered the best heavy in the world cause he's been very active dominating all challengers. and even though all the haye haters are now saying vitali will jab him to death now when he wins the same haters wont give him the credit cause they'll say vitali was washed up all he did was come back after four years and beat a fat slob bum who didnt even come to fight in peter. so haye should fight wlad and vitali should fight gomez and if they both win then set up a mega fight later in the year
