Tough break mate, if you bounce back the right way from this sort of set back it will make you a better fighter. Work hard and you'll do fine!

Anyone know why British boxing.net have been so harsh to MTG? Writer for the article was Terry Dooley.

Because he was shocking. Had no cornerman or trainer come with him, so someone else had to wrap his hands up. Looked woefuly out of shape, and having spoken to terry myself, didnt want to know as soon as a punch was landed. Boxings a tough sport, you have to give it 110% or not bother.

People in a position to pass comment should respect all fighters regardless of appearence or ability. It takes serious balls just to get in the ring. If someone wrote about me that way I'd be very tempted to commit a criminal offence.

Spot on. Anyone who steps through the ropes deserves at least a minimum amount of respect. It's easy to comment when you've never had to do it.

:good Seriously the guys been publicly ridiculed on British boxing .net and its out of order. I thought there is an alterior motive for the comments but it appears not.

I have many debates with Terry Dooley on boxrec.

    Mostly about Hatton and Calzaghe.

Terry thinks Hatton's win over Tszyu was better than Joe's over Lacy.

I say name wise the Tszyu win was better, performance and dominace wise Joe's win over Lacy was better and Joe didn't have to foul. So I kinda make them equal.

There was one debate about Andy Morris being flat footed too and why he'd lose to Derry haha.

I think Terry has only mentioned that he's visited gyms and watched, not actually stepped In one.

Terry trains at Bob Shannons gym in Manchester. He's no pro fighter, but he's been training for quite a few years.

Jeff: Should a journo write the truth, or cover everything in sugar? Would you prefer he didnt provide an honest personal assesment of the evenings proceedings?

A Journo should write the truth and his opinions of course but there is a way of writing without trying to raise a cheap laugh at someone elses expence. And the lines 'Gillick turns out and gets knocked out' plus various other insults throughout the report of the show are completely needless bearing in mind the significance of MTG's fight with respect to Martin was hardly headline material. I usually enjoy reading britshboxing.net and have probably come across Terrys stuff before without complaint- however that was cruel and heartless.
