Pac vs. De la Hoya is a mismatch. Its an embaressment for Oscar whose pretty much a middleweight to fight someone like Pac whose barely a legit lightweight. Thats just going too far. Its like Calzaghe fighting Klitschko, it just doesn't make sense.

you're talking about legacy. but i'm talking about business terms here. barrera lost to jmm and pocketed 1.25M. but in his very next fight vs. pac, he again loses but pockets 3M instead. that's why i'm telling you that a loss doesn't mean you instantly lose your marketability and earning power as a PPV attraction.

it would be nice to have both legacy and money hand in hand in this sport but boxing is still a profession and a business. there will be fights for legacy but there will also be fights for purely business considerations.

If you look at it by Pac's point of view, sure he's love a big money fight with DLH after losing to JMM......

.....but looking at it by DLH's point of view, he'd be better off fighting Cotto, Hatton or rematching Mayweather than fighitng a Pac who just lost to JMM!

No, it not the end of the world if Pac loses to JMM, but I do believe that all this talk about possible fights with fighters north of 135 lbs would go completely out the window!

The reason to watch Pac north of 135 lbs would be because there are'nt any fighters below that could compete. That at the moment is'nt the case.

PBF comes in only at 149 lbs & he beat DLH(barely). Pac can't afford to lose his speed. His Power now is good enough to hurt any welters. Roach said he hit like a Middleweight & he also said Pac has more Pop than DLH.

I know you're a huge Pac fan, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
    I'm a Pac fan myself.

But you have to look at this realistically. Mayweather is a special boxer. He's a mover who has quickness, speed, pop, and has a masterful defense to go along with a superb accurate offense.
....that type of fighter can get away with fighting bigger men because of the combination of his great offense, defense and manueverability.

Pac is a whole different animal in that he relies more on speed, strenghth and power.
Fighters of Pacs thread usually dont do well fighting much bigger men.

.....and I did hear what Roach said. He said that there was more snap to Pacs punches when hitting the mitts, but that DLH's shots carried more weight and mass behind them.

You could actually have a flyweight hit the mitts and determine that he has better pop in hitting them than Wlad Klitchko, the Heavyweight Champ of the World.
.....that pop is'nt going to beat the mass of Klitchko however!

Any idea how Pacquiao would look at 147?

    He can't win.

You call PBF special & Pac not special???? Pac's keep on moving up in weight & still carries his speed & Power. He fought JMM, MAB 2X & EM 3X & was never been KD. You People says Pac has no defense, How come he survive those 3 & came up on top??? Pac can be hit more than PBF but his Chin is solid & tested now. DLH's best Punch is a Left Hook, But can he land it on a Quick footed with good Head movement Pac??? Pac was not hittable by left hook coz he was Protected by his Quick Powerful & Long Jab in a SouthPaw stand. Just Check Pac fights with any Left Hooker(watch MAB fights) & you'll see what I mean.

This is the reason why I want Pac to keep his speed. So for him to fight DLH on the outside. Pac has longer Arms than DLH 25"-24". Pac's quicker so can land his Long Straight left at will then move out before DLh counter. Pac knows how to defend frrom a jab now using Headmovement & by using his quick feet(watch Pac-EM2 &3). What's left for DLH??? Straight right hand but he's not that good on that hand.
Pac can be hit but I'm sure he'll hit his opponent more. I trust his chin now so I'm giving him a Good chance to beat an Old DLH.

Check the HBO's tale of the tape for both DLH & Pac. I just check it Pac has 25" arms length & DLH 24". The only P4P fighters today longer than Pac is PBF & Calzaghe who both have 26".

If pac was ever foolish enough to get in a ring with dlh he`d get knocked spark out, gauranteed.

    This fight WILL NEVER HAPPEN.

I also very confident Pacquiao will never box @ 147lbs. If he does, it will be ridiculous. Many of Pacman ttributes will be gone at that weight.

I bet, & rightly so, Freddy Roach laughs the thought of Manny boxing @ WW. It's just plain ridiculous!

I AGREE this will not happen but I don't agree in your first sentence!
he'd get knocked spark out, guaranteed.

In boxing, there is NO guarantee. The list of upsets is endless...
Nevertheless, I agree THIS WILL FIGHT WILL NOT HAPPEN!

You didn't get it. Both Pac & DLH was trained by Roach. Roach is the man to gauge how strong Pac's punches is compare to DLH. Roach also trains some Middleweights like Manfredo. He knows how strong Middleweights are & He said Himself that The Present 130 lbs Pac hits like a Middleweight. Ask Brad Cooney of box**talk, he's the one who did that interview.
