Exactly! They'll see a post like that and think "oh he's just being a hipster.." but NO. The average Mexican or South American undercard 6-rounder is better than 90% of what gets televised on PBC/GBP/TR/PPV undercards.

 

Gah! You would've been first-line had you popped up on the "active members" list, promise!!

 

That's what throws me. I tag people whom a) I can see are currently online browsing the forums (I'm not sure if everybody can see that or if that's a mod privilege) and b) have proven themselves knowledgeable and passionate adherents of the sport to at least a minimum-threshold degree to have caught my attention, regardless of whether or not we have a history of friendly interactions and/or like-mindedness. These are real boxing fans, just ignoring the fact that live boxing is on, even as they bother to spend their free time browsing a boxing forum on a weeknight. Like...huh?

And then I take a look at what threads are being viewed instead, and I'm like "Really? That was higher priority?"

The winner of this might get a crack at the WBC Latino 135lb title (in other words, might fight the winner of the main event, which is for that selfsame vacant belt)

Round 1

Márquez is showing off his power early, attempting to check the chin of Arboleda (which Filipino journeyman Recky Dulay cracked on the Berchelt vs. Miura undercard last year). Márquez is clapping him with hooks, twisting his body into them for extra force. Arboleda tries making it a civilized fencing duel but can't establish the jab stiffly enough to get Márquez's respect.

Round 2

Márquez is harrying Arboleda with center-line pressure, keeping his fists bunched up beneath his chin and knifing out jabs on the hairline, following up with mid-range hooks. Arboleda is able to duck and throw fluid, tight counters from cover behind a raised & fixed guard. Márquez dropped! He's up and battling again within moments, swinging big hooks to get himself back into the game, but he still looks a little woozy. Arboleda bides his time, hacks with a few gavel rights while ducking and weaving, then nails Márquez again with a big right hand, a couple of uppercuts, and down he goes!
