These days, when I have time, I just add a bunch of missing fights to the database. Something about filling in a fighter's record that's so fun to me.

El Matemático? That's his brother.

Very confusing - same name, same weight range, same fighting style, and very similar nicknames (Matemático and Científico; the Mathematician & Scientist respectively)

Científico is younger and still active. Matemático debuted several years earlier, is several years older, and climbed to greater heights in the sport (at least than Ricardo the Younger has thus far) but is done.

edit: never mind, I guess he started a comeback last August..

Well if you saw the interview earlier, Triana is extremely confident heading into this, and I believe that'll be his undoing. El Científico isn't somebody you just casually decide you're going to steamroll.

Triana is also, in case I neglected to mention, a crossover from MMA. He's probably used to being relatively superior to his peers in striking ability, which might be fueling his arrogance here in his biggest step up in a boxing ring. This isn't MMA, kid.

Quite the who's who of Central American boxing in the ring. All we need is Marcel and Pedroza to cover Panama's greatest of the past few years.

I take it back; Científico, while in the same general neighborhood as his elder brother (sub-welter), has never actually overlapped in divisions with him. Currently at lightweight, he's been one up (140lbs) and one down (super feather) while the more famous Mathematician made the flyweight to featherweight climb in his day.

So to properly answer your question @Russell - I think cocky MMA guy is going down inside 3.

They're showing highlights of Edgardo Avila vs. Jonathan Carmona, the show opener.

...and now of Pachay vs. Callender, so I guess they're doing a catch-up retrospective of all the undercard fights before the main event.

@UnleashtheFURY they're showing highlights of the co-main event now! (slow motion but still)

Pit Bull making his way into a pro boxing ring, for the thirteenth time. Entering to...The Final Countdown by Europe. Weird choice. I feel like GOB Bluth has forever robbed this song of any capacity it may have ever had to be taken seriously.

Looking into Triana, he’s been in with decent competition. Only loss is to Placido Ramirez who was stopped by Sonny Fredrickson prior to the latter’s hype train being derailed. Might lead to his confidence.

Both came in 133lbs. Same height, at least going by eye as they face off for referee's instructions. Triana has the more defined musculature, while Núñez has more of that "wiry-strong" look, a`la Kelly Pavlik.
