Next Floyd Excuse/Demand: "You can't train in the Philippines"

from what i understood, it was a recent law that from 2009 that's why pac has to half his training schedule (first 4 weeks outside US and last 4 weeks in US) starting from the cotto fight.

and from that figure, if pac is fighting twice a year, 180 days would just be enough for him to avoid paying exta taxes by overstaying his training within 3 years. of course he has to pay some regualr tax but he does not need to pay extra if he can train for less than 180 days in america.

 

OK, I understand what you're sayin' about the 180 days and what not, but that is still very vague as to what is "Excess taxes". I mean, is it more than what Floyd would have to pay to fight and take home a monster purse in Vegas, USA? If so how much? Know what I mean.....

****, not sayin' that if he can stay the short stays and avoid big taxes (that everybody else has to pay), I'd prolly do the same thing. It just don't seem fair to call it a "problem" though.

 

They have reported in the past on the tax issues Pac faces in the US. Don't recall specifics, or if they even gave any, not that they need to divulge to the press.

 

At the end of the day the real question would be: Can a person not be allowed to train in his own country?

I totally agree on this, but you also have to consider, I would assume, Pac also pay taxes to his own country.

 

More often than not, rich people just bribe tax collectors over there. Odds are Pac is no different.

Only thing, IMO, it looks more to me that instead of it being a "tax problem" it's more like after 180 days the loophole he uses to avoid taxes closes. What you think?
