Maidana or Thurman are the logic fights to make, within the Haymon network. If a Bradley fight could be made, that would be interesting.
Since he already fought Brook, and I don't find it likely that he can land a Mayweather fight, Pac injured, Maidana inactive/retired - Thurman or Khan could be some good opponents for him.
He damn well better not get Floyd. Broner has proved too many times that he is not even an average Welterweight, let alone a good one. Maidana got the fight from beating Broner and that was a joke...regardless of the fact Maidana took it to Floyd. Had Maidana not fought Broner (who has unquestionably proved he doesn't belong at 147...or 144), even his most hardcore fans would have laughed at that pick.
Porter cant fight Floyd. If he couldnt get out of Broners clinches how do you think he`ll deal with floyds clinching? Nobody going to take a point from floyd thats for sure.
Well I still thinks it's a joke but A serious Mayweather is quoted by Dan Rafael as saying "It's Mayfield or Berto next" and when asked if he was joking Mayweather said "No, Pacquiao fought Algieri so why not?" Also Mayweather said "Porter should fight either Thurman or Spence Jr for a title I will vacate" So by the look of it Porter will not be fighting Mayweather.
He needs another fight against a solid welter ..Broner is just a hype job .. I'd like to see him in against Thurman ..Porter needs to work on his jab a little more ..But not a bad showing but still there questions about him ..
Bradley or Pac would be fun... obviously thats not gonna happen. Thurman is the logical next opponent.
Porter vs Khan would be a really good fight for Porter. Almost a sure win, and a bigger name than Thurman (who imo would beat him)
I think Zaveck is a best case scenario for everybody, actually. Porter can potentially look really good here, as the stylistic match-up would flatter him (as much as Devon & Paulie did, although Jan is nothing like either of them) and would pick up some credibility by more soundly defeating someone against whom Berto arguably got lucky and who managed to hang tough w/ Thurman. As for Zaveck, his career is likely winding to a close and he can either milk his remaining stuff @ Euro level and ensure he pads his W column up before hanging 'em up, or he can take one last stab at the big time and, even if he loses, at the very least make one more big fat check in the US on which to ride off into the sunset.
