He's got a decent pool of opponents to choose from in the lightweight division, at least a division not owned by Golden Boy like 140/147 are. What's next?
Last night sucked Gamboa bored the living **** out of everyone but the greatest of cubaphiles and the so called technical brilliance set, who are a collection of morons lacking a pulse. His fight and the DHopkins bull**** bored the shite out of viewers until the real entertainment took place. No I DONT WANT TO SEE GAMBOA UNLESS ITS WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF THE OPPONENT, SORT OF LIKE WHEN I WATCH MAYWEATHER.
Totally agree. Gamboa will be the B-side for me regardless of who he fights. He's just too boring and uneventful. And not in a brilliant boxing kinda way. It's really difficult for me to be as bored whilst watching boxing as Gamboa can make me feel.
I'd like to see him move back to 126 to be honest. At these higher weights he is just to cautious to be exciting
Not many people on here have heard of Argenis Mendez, which is a shame. Mendez' slick sharp shooting style would be an absolute nightmare for Gamboa, and if Gamboa managed to win that fight it give him a belt and it would go a long way toward shaking his growing reputation as a sideshow freak. From there he could carry the momentum over invade 135 if that as what he wanted. Of course my first choice would be a bout at 126 with Mikey Garcia, but I realy doubt Bob Arum would be willing to work with Gamboa.
