The first Next Gen seemed very promising, an area title fight, Bellotti in a 10 rounder, Chamberlain back from injury after his area title win and a competitive lightweight contest Hyland jr v Cope. The undercard full of YOUNG local lads and a full house.

Last nights had series of one sided 6 rounders, Fowler and Jonas took 2 tv slots in uncompetitive bouts. Undercard made up of lads in or approaching 30 and only 1 fighter on the card from Newcastle. Didnt look to be a full house either. I really thought looked a great concept but fear it will now be used as a tour for Eddies Olympians with a few local old guards sprinkled in

Bellotti is doing really well, think he fights Jamie Speight in a couple of weeks for a wbc sliver title and I'm guessing it's a British title eliminator also

Eddie Hearn has too many fighters. He needs to let some go or we'll see more of these crap cards and the typical PPV undercards where he just puts out Olympians and the Smith brothers in squash matches.

I like how they put a 37 year old former world champion on a show called NXTGEN

Yeah it was a real missed opportunity in an area that has been starved of big time boxing
