Agnew in October, Fonfara in December, title fight next year. Oct & Dec are a lock for him on PBC per his promoter, Yvon Michel.
No need to rush him just yet. People are saying throw him in with Stevenson and Kovalev. Right now, Beterbiev only stands a punchers chance against those two seasoned fighters. Beterbiev is still raw for a pro. He doesn't have much head movement and he is to open and his reactions are not quite there yet. Against big punchers who can box and set traps like Kovalev and Stevenson, Beterbiev would get destroyed. His stamina and ability to set traps, work of the jab and carry out a game plan and adapt over the long haul are untested at the moment.
Bitterbeerface is in a way similar to Lomachenko---long successful amateur background did more to prepare him for a title fight than fighting cans, journeymen, fringe contenders and a couple of contenders for a few years did. He's already 30 so time is of the essence, he better make a couple of serious moves fast. Fonfara or Pascal seem like the most viable choice.
Chilemba first, then Fonfara. After that I wouldn't mind an undefeated clash between him and Alvarez.
