Next time you American posters complain about Joppy as an opponent for Bute...

As was mentioned earlier by KG, it most likely can have more or all to do with Green. In honesty he's looked like **** lately, even after his medical condition was said to be remedied. That last fight of his on ESPN he not only looked bad against questionable comp., he was back to doin that **** of lookin at his shoes every 20-30 seconds.

 

Not necessarily. No one really knows Joppy or Green. So when building up the opponent for Bute (to make Bute look good) they might be looking at what they can say to make this guy look good. Green, as good as he is, has done nothing. The best fighter he has fought is Miranda and he has held no titles. Joppy on the other hand is a former champion who has fought 3 legends and Taylor. No one is going to know or care that he is shot.

You can't blame America soley for this. Everyone here seems to argue that fighting in America is not necessary to make a big name for yourself. So pick a better opponent and don't fight on American TV.

there are tons of good fighters available at 168...........and joppy is not one of them.

if bute once respect among the boxing public, he should avoid making defenses like this.

 

Well now....if they aren't fighting on American TV, then this is in Bute's court. He had no need for an American name if it's not being sold to an American audience. He could have fought a higher rated fighter.

 

Well this is all true. But they don't need Joppy if the fight is not on US TV IMO.
