all are far tougher opponents than a shot joppy. andrade, stieglitz would be his mandatory.........but that doesnt mean he cant fight them right away. no law against it.

zuniga just ko´d an unbeaten russian (on tv) and would certainly fight again at 168 if offered a shot.

bika is well known in the usa after the contender.......and you bet your ass the tv networks would buy this.

and mendy has also fought on US tv........including a draw that should have been a win for him vs anthony hanshaw:yep.

mendy is a really good fighter.........better than anyone bute has met. he would give him hell.

but as i said: all are tough fighters............not jokes like a shot joppy.

that can get one thinking ???

    You haven't read my post.

If you think Mendy is better than Bika and Berrio, let's stop here.:good

And...for your info...Mendy, Hanshaw...they were both tried by InterBox, as far as I know. Zuniga - not sure. Need to ask Maxime.

you have never seen jean paul mendy fight, have you??

he is probably the darkhorse of the super middleweights.

and i doubt mendy was tried for by butes team. mendy has been longing to get into the ring with anyone........he has trouble getting fights (reason: a hard hitting southpaw with a good chin and a high workrate.....yet no big name. draw your own conclusions). he would have taken that fight in a second.......no matter how small the purse.

zuniga would have too, no question.

and stieglitz and andrade would have accepted also.

but bute obviously doesnt want to fight them. he rather fights a shot joppy.
    draw your own conclusion.

I think Bumdujour just doesn't know what he's talking about. He's judging Bute and his team without knowing any of their efforts to find a decent opponent. The list of who refused, who were injured, who already had a bout, etc, is incredible. Mister du Jour has the right not to like Bute. Maybe just try to be informed before writing false statements.

Bute needs to go to the States and fight bums before he makes a name for himself. Then, and only then will he deserve to get in the ring with Alan Greens. I can't believe he can get away with hiding in (Bonjour!) Quebec and being overprotected.

I don't know anything of Bute/Zuniga relations, but I will say that Zuniga is a much better fighter than he is generally given credit for around here too.

Come on!!! Everybody knows in the business of boxing that the first defense is always a gimme. Every promoters want a return on their investment after putting so much money to develop a champion. It costs around 100K to bring a boxer to the top. Now, the promoter
just want to cash on his boxer new champ status for a fight or two.

Joppy has a shot! Fair enough! Bute and Interbox will make easy money by putting around 14 000 people in the arena. Then let's move on to the next fight!

    9. Alejandro Berrio - Just got KOed by Bute
    10. Sakio Bika - Lost to Bute in IBF eliminator
    11. Jeff Lacy - Said no or was busy
    12. Allan Green - Said NO!!!!!
    13. Crisitian Sanavia - Unavailable

Looks like it won't be Zuniga either.

    [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Oral-Zuniga IBF eliminator!
Promoters Ahmet Öner and Alfredo Marchio have agreed to co-promote an IBF middleweight elimination bout between #15 Mahir "The Lion" Oral (21-1-2, 8 KOs) and #10 Fulgencio Zuniga (20-2-1, 17 KOs) in Hamburg in

. The winner will automatically be ranked in the vacant #1 spot. "That's the chance I have been waiting for," said Oral. "I've been working hard to make my way into the ratings. Now I can show everybody that I got what it takes to go all the way to the top. I will beat Zuniga and go on to dethrone 'King Arthur' Abraham." After his latest victory against Murat Mahmudov in July, Mahir has had to undergo surgery on his right hand twice. "The last couple of months have been the hardest time of my life," continued Oral. "Especially as I felt that I was on the best way to the top of my game after beating Spada. Now I have only been running for weeks unable to use my right hand in training. On the other hand I have never been that fired up in my whole career. I start preparing for Zuniga right now to make sure that I'll be in the shape of my life in February."

So if it isn't Sanavia, Haussler or Zuniga. Who is it gonna be?

    I am angry!

Angry because Bute is fighting shot Joppy in the first place! Angry because he cannot fight Green/Miranda etc. Angry because he has to fight has-been NAME Joppy. Angry because unless you fight a US NAME, you are "not a name in the USA" and thus not a draw to tha casual fan...i.e. Taylor/Pavlik will never consider fighting you.
