    It's simple...

Anyone accepting Joppy as a legitimate contender in 2008 shouldn't have ANY problems with Chagaev fighting Krasniqi, Abraham fighting Ayala or Mundine fighting Hamdan... And we are not talking about Cotto-Gomez… because in 2008 Gomez has to be considered as a lower-end top15 contender and still half of the world jumped on Cotto for taking him…

But this is a disgrace to boxing. Since losing to Taylor the then very shot and retired, now 3 years older Joppy fought five 32-27-2 type guys and the ONLY fighter he defeated at the 168 limit (3 years ago) was LIGHT WELTERWEIGHT FIGHTER Rashaan Abdul Blackburn 8-32-2. And guess what! Joppy is NOT EVEN RATED in the top 15 in SMW by the IBF. His name somehow appeared at the LHW rankings after beating ETIENNE WHITAKER 32-27-2, so beating Whitaker made him a top15 world title contender. That guy’s fighting for a (paper) title at one of the hottest divisions in boxing… How do you like that?

As I've previously said I like Bute, he's very talented, but his competition is now weaker than in his contender days...

It is unacceptable that Joppy gets a title shot! Yeah! It is scandalous! Yes! We shouldn't condone it! True! And Bute should be fighting someone better! Yes! But he couldn't find someone much better to fight, given the way things stand. The ones that weren't busy doing something else declined the title shot. And in between some good journeyman and Joppy, Joppy is a better choice medium term because he is a has-been US NAME and might help Bute get a shot at Taylor! Do you agree with me?

Cal and Kessler had low view ratings because no one know of them in America, unless u are a true boxing fan. They need to fight in the U.S everytime they get a chance.

Bute needs to stay busy and don't forget, this is his FIRST defence. If nobody else is available then this fight is no worse than Calzaghe - Manfredo. Abraham, Mundine, Chagaev are all established names on the world scene, Bute isn't. Either Bute should be waiting for the top 15 contender to come around or take a stay-busy fight. I guess we got the latter. At least this way he's guarenteed to keep his belt which puts him in a strong position when Calzaghe vacates the other 3 belts as the longest reigning belt holder at 168.

It's not a great fight but if he wins easily and fights a decent boxer soon afterwards then I don't see the problem.

Let's say I don't disagree necessarily. But even pro boxing has it's rules and the organizations supposed to be objective judges to decide world title contenders. In the worst days when organiztations behaving badly, Joppy is still a discgrace as a contender.

You don't see blind former cab-drivers driving Formula1 cars when one team doesn't have enough money to pay a good driver... You can't break the rules because you don't have enough money (which is a sad problem and I hope they can solve it). Joppy is not a legitimate contender, it's like finding somebody named Williams Joppy at the Taxi station and put him in the ring... You dig?

Well mate I can tell you were angry but mainly at the circumstances which I think we all get mad at some of the unfortunate **** that happens....PBF-DLH2, and Sturm never fighting Abraham are examples for me
but like I said Patients man...in the meantime just watch Adi rip a new ******* out of Hoye, Crawford, or Taylor:yep
