As it looks like Cotto v the fairy Chavez Jr has fallen through who will be next up for Miguel?

I'm hoping it will be either El Perro or Berto but I have a sneaking suspicion Bob will be true to form and keep things in-house by going with Vanes M.

Im so happy this fight has fallen through, thank you!

Next up for Cotto, id try to get Angulo, Berto, or Mayweather.

Angulo - A good fighter with a decent name right now, only has lost once and would be a dangerous opponent for Cotto to fight, also, an actual contender in the class hes competing in. A win does good things for Cotto, and would be ranked fairly high.

Mayweather - Cotto vs Mayweather..... you cant turn down a chance to be the first fighter to beat Mayweather. It would be yet another blockbuster fight for Cotto, and one in which hes finally fighting someone that doesnt bring to the fight a lot of the things that are his undoing (unrelenting attacks, big power, ect) And it will be more of a fight along the type Cotto would be comfortable with. A loss here would mean nothing, nobody would expect him to win, while actually beating Mayweather would, of course, be off the charts.

Those would be the two names id be going for if i was Cotto and team.

There's a guy in Oz calling Cotto out.

But he's only whispering in case someone close to Cotto actually hears it!

While I agree that a loss to Mayweather would mean nothing to most fans, it could be the final nail in Cotto's confidence coffin. He's had a bunch of really tough fights in a row and I really think he(and his legacy)would be better served by focusing on consolidating his gains at 154 and fighting Berto or Angulo with an eye on a possible blockbuster rematch with Mosley...assuming Sugar Shane can put together a couple of wins.

Berto is really the best option, risk/reward-wise.

Berto would be the easiest. Angulo would knock Cotto out. Cotto would beat Void though.

He beat Waters so I think he's a mandatory for Cotto, but I read he's planning on fighting another nobody(Garth Wood) in December.

He won that and is apparently now the mandatory. Fight will never happen.

I def see your point Gaul, but im kinda of the opinion that Cotto doesnt have a whole lot of time left, so id like to see him get to fight mayweather rather then lose to someone along the lines of an Angulo or Berto, which would be 100's of times worse for his career.

If he gets Angulo, ill be happy regardless, i want to see that fight. Among others, and maybe build up to a Mayweather fight, but a Cotto vs Jr fight is def one i want to see while cotto is still relatively on top and doesnt slip any further.

i think Cotto could be the first to beat floyd, and floyd would take the fight now, after seeing Cotto lose a couple of times, floyd would probably fancy his chances.

Angulo would be a good fight.

if paul williams vs martinez doesnt get signed , id like to see williams get brought down a peg, his style is way too open and i could imagine cotto getting inside very easily

Just because you hate someone doesn't mean everyone in the history of fighting can beat them just to serve your agenda.
