I'd personally like to see him fight Ruslan in his first defense, but we all know that fight isnt happening immediately due to politics.

Broner and Crawford would also be excellent fights for all involved, but what kindof $$$$ would be needed to make those fights happen.

I'd be satisfied if he fought Humberto Soto or Orozco next.

I know Orozco won thier fight last night, but I had Soto winning 4 rds cleanly, plus I had him winning the rd Orozsco lost the point.
So I scored the fight 95-94 for Soto.

But politics gave Oroszco the win. And while it was no robbery, I wouldnt be down on Postols ppl if they called on Soto for their first defense.

I also wouldnt mind seeing Peterson get the call, but he's been robbed badly in his most recent fight vs Garcia and I'd rather see him go the IBF route taking out Cuenca.

If he fights anybody other than Amir Imam, then it's a clear duck.

Provodnikov fight could happen, they both have Kornilov as manager and Provo would love to be back on HBO + a title shot.

    Peterson is going to 147.

I'd like to see him face winner of Troyanovsky-Cuenca and unify the belts :think

Once Cuenca beats Troyanovsky, he's making one more defense and retiring as TBE.:D

I just remember reading over at the scene after the Garcia fight that 147 was very likely for PEDerson, didn't he come in at 165 lb against Cherry Garcia?

Long enough and the fight was mandated.

Well, Postol was Garcias mandatory since just after Garcia beat Mathysee.

Postol continued to win and mantain his mandatory status, and Lucas climbed back into the #1/#2 contender spot.

The WBC had their #1 and their #2 contenders fight it out for their title, and Postol won.

He now has 1 yr to make a fight with Imam should he continue to fight and beat WBC top 20 opposition.

Not saying Imam don't deserve a shot, but IMO, as a fan, I don't wanna see Imam thrown in their too early vs Postol, who has literally beaten every style there is to beat, and on every level.

Imam also is ranked highly by the WBO and WBA.

And he'd obviously be at a far less disadvantage fighting Broner, Benavidez, or even Crawford in his pursuit of his first title.

    IMO, Imam should TARGET Broner.

Biggest payday with the best chance of scoring the KO win. :think

Thought it was 153 or something, but you might be right.

Hell, if it's true he was 165 for Garcia, he should be fighting at LMW or MW. :think

No, because he became the mandatory with his defeat of Angulo.
Mark my words. Imam will beat Postol. :yep

It was a solid win for Imam, but nothing close to preparation for a world title bout.

Postols victory over Corley is far better. And that was 3 yrs ago before he was even a relevant prospect. :think
