Fury couldn't knock the skin off a rice pudding but it's highly likely he can tool deontay for 12 rounds. But beating your north American opponent isn't enough in Vegas AND STILL....
Canelo-GGG didn't have a gap in boxing brains though did it..they were very evenly matched when it came to that side of things. To say there is a gulf in Wilder-Fury is an understatement. Fury is far far far far far more skilled than Deonkey is. If it goes to points, Fury will get it, because that's how the judges will be feeling going into the fight. They'll have that in their heads from the start, they'll be thinking it's either 'Fury on points' or 'Deontay by KO', and that will influence how they score it. They wouldn't have been thinking that in Wilder-Ortiz. Even though Ortiz is clearly the more skilled guy, they would have been thinking about who knocks out who first because Ortiz has power too, unlike Fury.
There's an easy way to prove it. Just read the judges scorecards. They'll be in Al Haymon's safe having been filled in ready for delivery on the night.
Canelo beating GGG was not a robbery. I thought Golovkin won the first and Canelo the second. I could be wrong but if the first one was a robbery, the second one wasn't.
I’m looking forward to your new thread tomorrow Inferno. Has to be something along the lines of AJ, Hearn, anti anything that isn’t affiliated with matchroom.
It's smart timing on their part, if a little opportunistic. Boxing media are in London for AJ Povetkin. They'll be writing about that and getting good positioning due to AJ's fame so there's guaranteed exposure for the fight announcement and free publicity effectively. They can say some controversial stuff about whoever won and how this is the real HW title fight etc.
