Undercards usually only have completely one sided bull **** fights nowadays anyway

to your broader point, it’s prize fighting nothing else, not one participant whether Fighter, promoter, manager, gives a **** about the sport. It’s about money

 

Did you see the interview with Gane where he said how much he trains grappling etc. before the Jones fight? He said he doesn't train all year then 2 months before a fight he has a camp mainly focused on striking. He'd only been active in MMA for about 3 years before fighting Ngannou so that's essentially broken down 1 year jiu jitsu and wrestling part time. He's a white belt in BJJ and novice in Wrestling and still had a close fight with Ngannou. Jones showed what a proper wrestler can do with someone like that. Ngannou is very overrated imo.

There found an article about it. Gane admitting he's basically a part timer especially when it comes to grappling. Fair enough accomplished kick boxer but not a grappler by any stretch and Francis still couldn't submit him.

Hes been competing in MMA professionally for a decade and almost all of his opponents want to take him down. You really think he doesnt train grappling extensively just because his preference is striking? obviously hes not some ADCC champion level grappler but do you think a beginner can stop someone like Stipes takedowns?

 

OP, you're giving up on the sport because potentially the biggest, most stacked night of boxing literally in its entire history might happen? I mean it almost sounds like a miracle if that card happens as it comes across like total hyperbolic bull****, but if it does? definitely not a reason to give up on the sport.

 

Only MMA rules fights really matter in these MMA vs boxing events tbh. Who gives a **** if someone can win by banning 80% of the other guys skills.

 

Still I mean. If you read my earlier posts this fight comes down to how much Chisora has left in the tank.

 

If Ngannou is going to come to boxing I'd much rather see him vs Chisora than Fury or any of the other big names he keeps mentioning.
