26-0 Maldonado (MMA record 28-17) had been KO’d in 35 seconds by Miocic in MMA but he went on to go the 10 round distance with Rivas and Takam in boxing. By contrast, Miocic wasn’t able to seriously hurt, drop or stop Ngannou over two fights and 36 minutes in 4oz gloves, despite landing 82 strikes (UFC stats) This content is protected https://boxrec.com/en/box-pro/171565 Ngannou obviously has an iron chin and Dubois isn't Mayweather either, given the fact he got outboxed and stopped by a lateral moving Joyce's jab.
My assessment of Ngannou's boxing ability was based on his MMA fights. As such given the available footage, I am correct. That said Ngannou has vastly improved on those performances. That also said, Fury came in looking like a hobo version of himself and greatly flattered Ngannou. I'd been saying all along that Fury risked getting KOd by Ngannou if he did not take the fight seriously and I was correct there too.
Just be mature enough to admit you were totally wrong. I was wrong too but I gave Ngannou far more credit pre-fight than you did, as did Joe Joyce, whose shared a ring with him.
There are much better MMA HW boxers than Ngannou. He's a just physical beast of a man. Huge unit, very physically strong, powerful, good chin, and he had the element of surprise on Belly and boxed a much more disciplined and cagey fight than they were expecting. Belly hits hard when he sits down on his shots but there are probably 15 if not more HWs who hit harder Here's 10 off the top of my head The Dosser Mak Dubois Big Bang AJ Jalolov Bakole Gassiev Dychko Hrgovic Ngannou's gas tank is not going to hold up if you make him work at any kind of pace and getting hit on the chin by the likes of The Dosser, Mak, Big Bang, Dubois, AJ and Bakole is different than it is getting hit on it by Belly who if he was going to get Ngannou out of there needed to let his hands go and hit him consistently ala how he did to The Dosser whose chin is wildly overrated.
It seems I need to elaborate a little bit. Dubois unlike Ngannou is a boxer and so he is much better in almost every aspect of the game and it ain't close.
Dubois will KO him brutally. Just like AJ will beat him, Zhang will beat him, Joyce will beat him, hell even prime Chisora will toy with him.
Rahman Jr., Neely and Corbin are all experienced boxers, all of them got dominated by a UFC reject journeyman in his first 12 months as a boxer. Chinny quitter (probably mentally shot) Dubois would probably get KO'd by Ngannou. He can't even stand up to a Joyce/Usyk jab, or a Lerena punch to the forehead.
I basicly agree with you but this "physical beast" has put him way more forward than anybody expected . His physical strenght , powerful shots and an armored chin might indeed finally overhelm a fighter like dubois . An elite technical boxer like usyk will without any doubt outbox ngannou but when ngannou starts to clinch , lean and bodyshot usyk i,m also here not absolutely sure . And usyk punches way to soft to crack ngannou,s chin so we do not talk about ko,ing him .
