Close fight, could've gone either way. The decision for Malignaggi was certainly reasonable. Only thing that stinks is that wide card. Really this is the type of fight that could be scored like 115-113 either way, or a draw. Anything wider on either side would be questionable.
Paulie M - "Ya I grunt when i get my swell on at the gym, so everyone can see how jacked and tan I am"
rematch rematch rematch even if u think paulie won (which i did by one) u can't deny it merits a rematch.......but damn he has a rematch with ndou......
Oh and I thought Malignaggi would outbox Herman to a wide UD but I was proved wrong (except hometown Paulie had the judges cards filled out for him in advance). Look at both fighters faces and tell me who won
Yeah I saw it as a close fight, could have went either way. Am upset that Herman didn't get the nod, but he could have done a bit more in a couple rounds to improve his chances. That being said, 117-111 is rediculous. 115-113 I can accept.
coming from this guy Hatton will get a Gift Decision Yep he will. The fight is nearly certain to go the distance, Mayweather is the better boxer and will outbox Hatton but Ricky will make it sort of close with his workrate/strength/pressure/speed. Delahoya is promoting the fight and has a massive fight lined up with Hatton, which will sell far more if Hatton wins. Delahoya and all the Golden Boy staff are saying Hatton will win because they want him to win. Delahoya has paid off 2 sets off judges so far for DHOPs and Casamoya. This is a fight he will really make money off if Hatton wins and be sure hes had a little chat with the judges and they now all have plans for new swimming pools they previously couldnt afford Hatton UD - after been outboxed for 12rounds :rofl :rofl :rofl
I couldn't see 7 rounds to give to Paulie. I had it 7-5 for Herman. However, in these types of fights the more marketable fighter - usually the champ gets the decision. I think that 116-113 was actually quite biased. Paulie is the champ, the hometown fighter, more marketable and as long as he didnt get completely dominated he was always gonna get the decision. I think if Paulie had taken a knee in the earlier rounds under heavy pressure the judges would still have scored it roughly the same, although that one judge wouldn't have dared have 117-111.
Your going offtopic but.... I was worried Mayweather would get robbed but Hatton would get a gift so Delahoya could make big bucks with Hatton. Delahoya did pay off the judges for DHOPs and Cassa :deal Hatton sold 1million PPVs in the uK and is a MASSIVE DRAW
I couldn't agree more with you! A hugger de-luxe! Malignaggi can't fight his way out of a wet paper bag. He is more elusive than most fighters though. That said, he is unable to FIGHT...he does not punch with intent...there is no weight transference in any of his shots.....therefore, the total lack of power. It's actually beyond my comprehension. He has the reflexes..he can take a meaningful punch..has a decent physique. But, he is either unwilling, or just cannot really fight. Perhaps the blame can be laid at the trainer's door...they may have made him believe that he is not a puncher of note and that his reflexes will win! Who knows? All I know, is that I should have remained sleeping. That fight was not worth getting up early for.
Paulie was slapping only, barely touched Herman.. Hermans head never snaped back unlike Paulie.. Paulie looked like a fool out there.. like a little girl.. and he won?? haha .. Biggest robbery ive seen!
